The Boise Metro Chamber announced that Bobbi-Jo Meuleman, Governor Little’s Deputy Chief of Staff, will take over the position of President & CEO of the Chamber. She will be replacing current President & CEO Bill Connors who announced his intent to retire earlier this year. The Chamber conducted an extensive national search using the national firm, SearchWide Global. A Search committee made up of ten Chamber Board members and officers selected Meuleman from a large pool of local and national candidates. Chairman of the Chamber Board Odette Bolano, the CEO West Region of Saint Alphonsus, oversaw the three-month long search process.
Meuleman has an extensive career in government affairs and economic development. Having served as Deputy Chief of Staff and Director of Intergovernmental Affairs for both Governor Little, and Governor Otter. She held a cabinet post as Idaho’s Director of Commerce which oversees the State’s economic development efforts and tourism promotion efforts. She started her career in DC as a staffer for Senator Conrad Burns (R-MT) and Congressman Denny Rehberg (R-MT). She is a member of multiple Boards and community organizations. She was a 2017 “Accomplished Under 40” honoree and holds multiple awards for her work around the State. She holds a BA in Political Science from the University of Montana. Of her appointment, Meuleman said, “The Boise Metro Chamber has been front and center in promoting the Valley business community. There is a reason Boise is the destination businesses are choosing to locate and expand. I look forward to carrying on the great work of Bill and the board to ensure all Boise area business can succeed.”

What is your favorite film?
My favorites from days past would be, the Sound of Music, the Wizard of Oz, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Footloose, Pricilla Queen of the Desert, To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything Julie Newmar! Just to name a few.
What is the best book you have read recently?
My job requires me to read compliance manuals and regulatory agreements, so anything besides that is fair game. But the most recent book I read was a memoir about my Dad, a war veteran, entrepreneur, small business owner, an educator, and the most amazing Dad to have as a role model. I am the person I am today because of my Dad (and my mother too!)
What is your favorite place in Boise to take a visitor?
Who is the most interesting historical figure?
Martin Luther King and his work with advancing human/civil rights for people. I have always believed all people should be treated fairly, with kindness and respect. Equal rights for all.
What is the top reason to do business with your company?
I work for NeighborWorks Boise, an affordable housing private non-profit. Our focus is safe, secure, affordable housing for all. Housing is so important to a successful life. I encourage anyone to see all the amazing programs we have for the community. Rake Up Boise and Paint the Town are the two of the largest volunteer events in Idaho, huge givebacks to our community. If you are in need of an affordable rental or an affordable home to purchase, please come see us. We help people succeed.
Sponsored by:
The Anne Frank Memorial, which is a one of a kind memorial. You won’t find another like it in the country. I also enjoy showing people our amazing greenbelt system, which showcases some of the most beautiful spots in our city.
What is the best advice you have received?
To be yourself, to show respect to others, and to give back to your community. Always remember, there is no place like home.
