MAYOR’S STATE OF THE CITY ADDRESS
On Thursday, May 16, 2024, at JUMP in downtown Boise, Idaho, Boise Mayor Lauren McLean delivered her State of the City address to the public. Co-hosted by The City of Boise and the Boise Metro Chamber, the event gathered a significant audience to hear about the city’s progress and future plans.
Mayor McLean, serving her second term as Boise’s 56th mayor and the first woman in this role, highlighted numerous achievements and ongoing initiatives, reflecting her administration’s dedication to making Boise a thriving, inclusive city.

CONFERENCE IN SUN VALLEY
The Boise Metro Chamber welcomed a sold-out crowd of Idaho’s top CEOs, elected officials, esteemed local leaders, and members of the business community to the Annual Leadership Conference at the Sun Valley Resort during April 21-23, 2024. Each year, the conference focuses on the current landscape and potential solutions for matters impacting our state. This year’s agenda explored “Energy in Idaho” through thought-provoking sessions and engaging panel discussions with the industry’s top executives.
Attendees gained exclusive insights, cultivated invaluable connections, and participated in the transformative two-and-ahalf-day experience. The presenting sponsor for the conference was Republic Services, a waste management company committed to sustainability and environmental responsibility.

Volunteers Needed July 25!
We cannot thank our 2,000+ members more for their generosity and support of our organization, which is how Operation Thank You came to be. Every July, we hand deliver approximately thank-you packets to each one of our members and thank them for their support. Teams of volunteers and individual volunteers are always needed to help the chamber staff deliver packets.
You and your team are invited to be a part of a couple of challenges to help make the delivery process a little fun — and competitive! Details and prizes will be announced later!

LEADERSHIP BOISE CELEBRATES 2024 GRADUATES AND HONORS
COMMUNITY LEADERS
BOISE, ID – Community and business leaders, along with Leadership Boise Alumni (LB Alumni) and the 2022-24 graduating class of Leadership Boise (LB), gathered at the Grove Hotel on May 16, 2024 to celebrate the annual Leadership Boise Graduation & Alumni Reunion. This prestigious event recognized the newest graduates of LB and honored the finalists and winners of the Community Leadership Awards.
The evening began with a toast from Boise City Mayor and LB Alum, Lauren McLean. She praised the success of the Boise Metro Chamber’s esteemed two-year program, Leadership Boise, which originated in 1975 and is now one of the longest-running Chamber-sponsored leadership programs in the United States. Attendees were also inspired by a keynote speech from Jeff Huhn, LB Alum and Southern Idaho Market President of First Interstate Bank.
The LB Alumni Association recognized 15 finalists for the Community Leadership Awards, all of whom were selected for their exceptional engagement as Treasure Valley professionals. These individuals exemplify leadership, mentor and support others, and enhance the Treasure Valley community through their work and character.
The winners for the five categories were:

The event concluded with 2023-24 LB President, Dr. Jesse Mix, calling each graduate to the stage and presenting them with a commemorative plaque.
