The Boise Metro Chamber is pleased to announce that Five For Fighting front man John Ondrasik is confirmed as the keynote speaker for its 139th Annual Gala and Auction scheduled for Oct. 20, 2022 at Boise Centre. Ondrasik is a platinum-selling, Grammy-nominated artist, known for hits like “Superman (It’s Not Easy)” and “100 Years.” Ondrasik last addressed Chamber members at the 2015 Gala.
Recently, Ondrasik turned his attention and artistry toward the crisis in Ukraine, releasing a new single dedicated to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenski called “Can One Man Save the World?” The song has received hundreds of thousands internet views since it was posted in March.
Five for Fighting later had an opportunity to film a music video for the song, performing, alongside the Ukraine National Symphony Orchestra, at the site of the Antonov An-225 Mriya bombing. The An-225 Mriya was the world’s largest aircraft and a symbol of pride for Ukrainians.

The 24th Annual Boise Metro Golf Classic sold out in record time this year, according to Boise Metro Chamber Events Manager, Alex Finney. “Our tournament sold out in a matter of weeks after we opened registration,” said Finney. “Our sponsors are excited about this event every year. I’d say about 90 percent of them renew their sponsorship and enter teams year after year.” The tournament, widely recognized as one of the best in the Treasure Valley, featured 36 teams and 144 golfers. The event venue –The River Club – contributes significantly to the draw as well. Founded in 1917, the historic, private, full-service club features a spectacular par-71, 6,376-yard traditional-style championship layout and some of the most demanding par-3’s in the Treasure Valley. This year’s tournament took place Aug. 1 and was presented by Boise Metro Chamber member Intermountain Gas Company. The 2022 Boise Valley Spotlight is now available to the public at select newsstands and at local businesses throughout the Treasure Valley. More than 70 Boise Metro Chamber volunteers converged on the Chamber July 28 to collect and hand-deliver hundreds of boxes of Operation Thank You packets to Chamber members and thank them personally for their membership.
