Your bi-monthly Boise Metro Chamber update

We're Here for You! | Keeping Our Nose to the Grindstone in the Wake of COVID-19 by Bill Connors, Boise Metro Chamber As I write this message on April 8 much of the Chamber family is in crisis. I’m hoping that by the time this newsletter arrives in your hands the virus will be on the decline, and the economy will be beginning to rise, but one thing is certain, we are a resilient community. Our role as a connector, convener, and business resource, has never been more important. Chambers are unique organizations. Our membership runs the spectrum of business types. We are 1,800 businesses that employee over one hundred thousands Idaho workers. All of our businesses, and our Chamber, have been throttled by this health and economic crisis. Our constricted staff have been working long hours to do whatever we can to help your businesses survive and hopefully thrive in a recovery. We are doing more than just re-posting regulations for the massive federal relief programs; we are producing personalized videos, podcasts, webinars, virtual education sessions, and news blasts to explain how to access these programs for your companies. We have been highlighting our members to consumers in every platform we can imagine, from takeout dining to online couponing. We have been connecting companies who are hiring, with companies who are laying folks off. We are connecting companies with supplies, or the capacity to make supplies, with hospitals and healthcare facilities. We are promoting local efforts like Crush the Curve, to increase COVID-19 testing capacity, and the Idaho Business for Education’s Community Activation Project to get PCs into homes that don’t have them. As always, we are also your voice, still advocating for solutions for our business community at the local, state, and federal level, especially right now. Your Boise Chamber has been doing this kind of work since before Idaho became a state. And, I pledge to you, that with your support, we will still have our lights on when this crisis subsides. So let’s keep the lights on, and stay Boise Strong!
