From the Legislature to the Chamber: Meet Our New VP, Mat Erpelding by Bre Brush, Boise Metro Chamber
The Chamber welcomed Mat Erpelding to its staff on December 5th to lead our advocacy efforts as Vice President of Government & Community Relations. Mat served four terms in the legislature where he was the Representative for District 19 and the Minority Leader of the Idaho House of Representatives. “Representative Erpelding is one of the most respected lawmakers in the Idaho Legislature, and we are extremely excited to announce such a monumental hiring," said Chamber President & CEO, Bill Connors. "While no one will ever be able to replace the iconic career of Ray Stark, Erpelding will help the Boise Metro Chamber chart an exciting new course for its local, state, and national agenda. He created a legacy of working with both sides of the aisle, and listening to multiple voices during his political career, we trust he’ll create that same legacy at our organization.” Erpelding was elected to the Idaho legislature in 2012 and elected to serve as minority leader by the House Democratic Caucus in 2016. He has a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Idaho State University and holds a master’s degree in adult and organizational learning from University of Idaho. He lives in North Boise with his wife, Elizabeth, daughter Louise, and their two dogs, Ruby & Saga. As you can see, we’re pretty excited to have Mat on board, so when you see him around at events please give him a big Chamber welcome!
