Welcome to the 2025 Oakview, Perkin, Triple R Bull Sale. Thank you to all our past, present and future customers for your support over the years and for your confidence in our herd. It is because of you that we strive to get better and to produce bulls and heifers alike that work for everyone’s programs. The friendships that have been made through selling bulls is something we cherish. We also want to thank our sale partners, Perkin’s and Dequier’s for being so easy to work along side, it is an honour to work with these two families.
With the addition of the “Bred for Success” Female sale it feels like this winter has been busier than ever, but it’s been a fun new adventure and we couldn’t be happier to finally put all the pieces together that we dreamt of for years.
It’s exciting to walk through the bull pen and appreciate the consistency from top to bottom, although it did make writing write-ups a little challenging as it felt like we were picking out the same desirable characteristics on every bull. Consistency and functionality are the ultimate goals, and we fell that this pen of bulls is an exemplary group that we are very proud of.
The bulls will all be penned and ready for viewing on Friday March 7th allowing the entire offering to be viewed together in the days leading up to the sale. As always, prior viewing to the Oakview bulls can be done at any time at your convenience, just give us a call. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out, or to contact the professional sale staff at Bohrson Marketing.
We look forward to hosting everyone on March 10th.
Leading off our red bulls we have something pretty special. Maverick is a perfect balance of calving ease and performance. This Huckleberry son is out of a moderate framed square made Betts female that has been adored in the showring and pasture alike for her udder quality, fluidity of movement and overall thickness and body structure. Maverick is clean fronted with a big square hip. He packs a lot of thickness and muscle with exceptional depth through his middle and a big barrel. This deep flanked dark red hairy bull is the complete package, not to mention his quiet disposition. Maverick is the only Huckleberry sired bull in the sale. Huckleberry was a Brooks son that we purchased from Triple R to use on heifers.

Missile is a glowing example of what a good cow family can do. Missile’s dam is the grand-dam of Maverick (Lot 16). Fame is one of those cows that out produces her self every year, bringing home a top end calf whether it be a bull or heifer they consistently are heavy muscled with that extra eye appeal. Missile is one that you have to admire for his extra rib shape, wide top and big hip. Here’s a bull with lots of testicle development, who has stood at the top of the pen for performance from a young age. He’s a bull that was an early standout this summer who continued to develop into a soggy made bull with tremendous thickness.
HOMO POLLED
Mission is a performance bull with extra length of spine. This square made bull is deep bodied with lots of hip. Here’s a bull that tracks really well stepping right into his front foot steps. Mission is an extremely eye-catching bull that has herd sire written all over him. Last year his maternal brother went to Ockerman Simmentals in Alberta.

Maximize is another Next Century bull stamped with the same style and dark color that we have seen in the other Next Century bulls. This long bodied bull is out of a great young cow that goes back to Betts and Red Mountain with the added bonus of having KOP Bengie 6P in his pedigree. Maximize is maxed out with a big round quarter and square top.
Oakview Mountie is a very stylish Next Century bull. We admire his depth of rib and square hip. He has a nice small head, should shoulder and extra length of spine coupled with lots of middle and quarter. His dam has been a very consistent producer, having weaned heavy weight calves that develop into big bodied functional cattle that go on to work well in their new herds.

Here’s a bull with a big blazed face out of a big bodied cow who continues to produce the highly sought after type. Mayor is a dark and hairy with lots of hind quarter. Mayor is a clean made bull with great feet and legs who moves out and carries himself with lots of presence.
RED PUREBRED CA-PG1481026
What an impressive pair of bulls! Mega and Major are two peas in a pod and rightfully so, these full brothers are extremely stout made bulls with huge hind quarters. They have tremendous depth throughout with exceptional spring of rib and exhibit a very masculine look. Mega was the highest performing bull at weaning time and has continued to be impressive at every stage of development. He’s very masculine with a huge top. Major is a slightly more moderate bull who possesses the same thickness and depth. Their dam is a female that Hayden used for 4-H who has a great disposition, nice tidy udder and great feet and legs.
Matrix is out of a beautifully uddered, powerful fall born female that we really admire. Matrix is her second calf, with the first being a heifer who just had her first calf in our herd and is well on her way to being a very functional front pasture female. Matrix is a very eye appealing bull with a nice small head. He’s dark, hairy and deep through the middle with lots of natural thickness all wrapped into a moderate package.

Meridian is a performance bull that we think quite highly of. He is among the first Eclipse sons to sell and we think he’s one with a bright future. We were fortunate to get a semen share on the $140,000 Eclipse bull when he sold as a yearling. Meridian is among the small but strong set of son’s we have on offer. He’s very well put together with a wide top and lots of rib shape. Meridian has been one of the top performing bulls throughout the season with one of the highest rates of gain at each weigh-in. He really is quite the bull! With a stacked set of performance and carcass EPD’s, here’s a bull that is destined to produce thick stout calves that grow.
Miller is another cookie-cutter Eclipse son who is very masculine in his make up with lots of muscle expression. Here is a bull with extreme width through his hips with a square, deep set quarter. Miller’s dam is a dark red feminine Missoula daughter who has a son working at Smart Farms as well as a heifer that sold this fall to Darren Harder. 25

Oakview Maximus is truly a performance type bull. Here’s a bull that will produce heavy weight calves that push down the scale at weaning time. Maximus is out of one of our favorite Missoula daughters. She is a hard working, heavy milking cow who consistently brings home a thick, easy doing calf that stands at the top of the pen and Maximus is no exception. He is dark red and hairy, has great hip shape and possesses a big round barrel.

Mystique is backed by a phenomenal cow family. His dam is an impressive Superduty daughter out of none other than KOP Bengie 6P. If you have followed our herd at all you know that Bengie has been a corner stone in our herd. Not only did she produce top end bulls for our sale but she left us with numerous females in production, I believe there are actually still 16 of them. If you are looking to add longevity Mystique is one to mark. His 9 year old dam still strides like a cat on perfect hooves, she milks hard on a strong udder, she’s easy doing and always looks phenomenal; all traits we admire in an aged cow. Mystique himself is a dark red solid made bull packed with thickness with exceptional spring of rib.

Wowza! Here’s a bull that has that herd bull look. He’s long spined, deep through the middle with tons of overall capacity that flows from front to back and into a deep-set quarter. He is a big framed bull that will add performance, thickness and eye appeal to his calves. Legend is a bull that once again goes back to the no-fail Bengie cow family. Legend’s dam is a big bodied cow with a fantastic udder and exceptional thickness.

If you are looking for a bull that can cover a couple extra females this spring, these extra age bulls are right for you. This end of September bull is dark red and smooth made. These are the first of the Chisel sons that we have produced and we are really happy with the way they have grown and developed. Landmark is a very long bodied bull that carries ample thickness through his hind quarter and over his loin.
FAIRVIEW CHISEL 10J
OAKVIEW JULIA 20J
Rounding out the Chisel Extra-Age bulls we have this soggy made powerhouse. Liberty is a star-faced bull with a big crest that is really starting to mature into a powerful bull. Liberty is one of the longest bodied bulls in the pen and couples that with the widest top around. He exhibits a big barrel that is evenly balanced by his huge hind quarter. Liberty also has some full blood genetics on the maternal side that make for something a little different.
HOMO POLLED
This is the first bull that OVS 267D has had, and while we have admired all of the broody good uddered females that she has put into our herd, we are also very impressed with what she can do with a bull calf. Max is a very complete and masculine bull. He was an early standout with his overall thickness and big round hip. Take a look at this stylish bull who is equally as genetically and phenotypically impressive.
HOMO POLLED
Here’s another Chisel son that demands your attention. This hairy rascal is packed with thickness from front to back. He’s got exceptional depth throughout, with a big round quarter. We admire the smooth and moderate package that this blazed face bull puts together.

Meeko is a good footed bull out of a cow that has stood the test of time. His dam is a 13 year old cow who is still giving us exceptional calves. Meeko is a clean fronted bull with a smooth shoulder who was born at 90 lbs and boasts a 13.4 calving ease number. Here’s a very versatile bull that will add some calving ease to his progeny while continuing to add length, depth and longevity to his offspring.

BEE OWENS 22K
OAKVIEW KONNIE 98K
HOMO POLLED
Morrison was born at 82 lbs to a first calf heifer. We have come to expect dark red, vigorous, low birth weight calves from those bred to Owens. Owens has worked extremely well in the heifer pen and we are just starting to see how they are maturing, and we couldn’t be happier. The Owens calves are clean made, smooth shouldered with that calving ease look, yet still pack enough thickness and power. Morrison has a big square top with lots of overall capacity and depth of quarter.

Here’s another calving ease candidate. This dark red Owens son is moderate framed with a smooth shoulder. Malone’s pedigree is stacked with Calving Ease specialists like Mader Lieutenant, Brooks, Huckleberry, Approval, and Lombardi. The guess work is done, top and bottom of the pedigree screams calving ease.

Lexicon is one that’s going to have a lot of friends come sale day. Here’s a Carhartt September born bull that puts it all together. Pedigree wise when you add the power, performance and longevity of Bengie with the presence of Carhart you can’t go wrong. Phenotypically you have to admire Lexicon’s exceptional length, overall muscle mass and thickness. Performance wise you can’t go wrong with a bull that was born at 90 lbs and was over 1700 lbs at picture time. Lexicon is a bull that we feel could work for anyone; he’s backed by a powerful, heavy milking cow that no matter how she’s bred brings home a special one. With that extra bit of age he should be able to cover a few extra cows.

They don’t get any darker than Mercury! Mercury demands you attention with his overall presence and exceptional thickness. Here’s a bull out of a bigger framed Wellington cow who continues to put a powerful bull in the sale year after year. Mercury is a hairy bull with great neck extension and clean sheath adding to his eye appealing package. The deep-set round quarter and extra length balance perfectly with the exceptional depth of body and width over top.
42 Myles 172M
Myles is another Carhartt son that follows the same muscle pattern as his brothers. He is a hairy bull with great feet, big quarter and table top loin. When we purchased Carhartt we admired him for his extreme thickness and depth of quarter which he passes onto his offspring.
CARHARTT 211F
Another cookie-cutter Carhartt son that is stamped with the same natural thickness, great hair and deep quarter. Monte is long spined with a clean sheath and front end. His mom is a moderate framed square made cow with a great udder that produces thick and flashy calves.
CARHARTT 211F
FEATURE 395F
Marshall is a bull that we appreciate more and more as he develops and matures. This Carhartt son has a huge barrel, small head and clean front end. He is a mini version of Carhartt himself with the same deep belly, wide ¼ and big hip. Here’s a bull that we feel will add some frame to his calves.
KUNTZ DEFENDER 20K MAR MAC ESQUIRE 51K
Mission is a little different pedigree for us. We purchased his mom as a bred heifer from MarMac Farms and Mission was the calf she was carrying. Mission is a moderate framed bull that is compact in his make up but packs a lot of good traits. He’s deep bodied with a nice quarter. This February born bull is one of the youngest bulls we have on offer. He’s a dark red hairy bull with lots of middle.
46 Malakai 37M
CURRENT AFFAIR
OAKVIEW HULK 380H
OAKVIEW ELLIE 37E
HOMO
This homo polled bull is out of “Hulk” a bull we raised that we use on heifers as well as on cows to moderate birth weight. He was named Hulk as he was a meat machine as a yearling who had exceptional muscle expression. When we look at Malakai we see a mini Hulk. Here’s a bull with lots of potential, he’s got lots of natural thickness and muscle expression, and is backed by a powerful cow.
OAKVIEW HULK 380H
OAKVIEW KATE 202K
Here’s another Hulk bull that can fit into a lot of different situations. He’s out of a heavily pigmented, phenomenally uddered fullblood Hank daughter. Miguel has a 13.2 calving ease EPD which indicates that he has potential to work on heifers. With the blend of full blood and red genetics you get the best of both worlds: maternal strength, milk and muscle from the fullblood side and tremendous depth of body, eye appeal and width of loin from his sire. Miguel is nearly solid red with just a splash of white on his face.
KOP MS BENGIE 6P
We’ve said it before, the inventory on Kop Bengie 6P embryos is running low and there won’t be many more opportunities to add a direct son to your herd. Mylo is the result of a flush we did early on when we purchased Bengie, and it was a mating that worked so well! Bengie was 19 years old when we flushed her for the final time, she was still extremely sound, in great shape and fertile. It’s pretty rare to have a matron cow be so productive for so long, and to consistently produce offspring that are herd improvers. Mylo is a blend of both of his parents with his overall length, sogginess and performance, not to mention how well he strides out on great hooves. If you are looking for something that’s Tried, Tested and True, look no farther than Current Affair x Bengie, you can’t go wrong here.
OAKVIEW HONKY-TONK 239H
OAKVIEW JOELLE 277J
Marty is a performance bull that I really like the look of. He’s a very eye appealing bull that is dark and masculine with an eye catching presence. This Honky Tonk son has the power of Bengie and Current Affair on the sire’s side and the tremendous hip that we see from the Bett’s influence on the maternal side. Marty has lots of rib shape coupled with a square top.
Mac 8M
OAKVIEW HONKY-TONK 239H
PERKS CARRIE 8Y
Mac is a dark red bull that is almost a purple colour he’s so dark. There’s a lot of longevity in this pedigree. We purchased his dam from our friends the Perkin’s many years ago. At 14 years old she is still going strong, has already calved this year, has a sound udder and excellent feet and no signs of slowing down. This smooth made strong topped, big butted blazed faced bull is a nice blend

The total package! Marvel is a smooth polled bull with eye appeal and power to spare. This bull is a powerful and masculine bull who exhibits extra length of spine. He’s a dark red, hairy bull with a huge top. From front to back he’s deep bodied with tons of natural thickness, a big hip and great footed . Marvel’s dam is a big bodied Dakota daughter that goes back to Draco on the maternal side. She has 2 daughters in our herd as well as 3 sons that sold to 4 Matt Simmentals, Storebo Farms, and Glencoe Stock Farms. Consistently she produces the soughtafter type, and this mating to Advantage might just be the best one yet.
Mandate has been a fan favorite of everyone touring the bull pen. Here’s a bull that is extremely dark and correct in his make up. We admire the thickness, muscle mass and overall style of the Advantage bulls. Here’s one who is not only extremely eye appealing but also tremendously dark and powerful. He’s got exceptional depth of body and a huge hind quarter. Marvel is out of one of the great young cows in our herd. She’s a cherry red powerhouse with a great udder and feet. With Advantage, Chesapeake, Jahari and Sadie “the cow maker” in his pedigree, you can’t go wrong.
Memphis is huge topped embryo out of one of an exceptional United female that goes back to Precious Thing. Like his dam Memphis is a soggy made, yet stylish, power house who travels fluidly on an excellent set of feet and legs. Last year, Memphis’ full brother topped the fullblood section of the sale making his home at Windsor Farms. The consistency and phenotypic perfection in this mating is what we strive to produce. The flush mate females easily rise to the top of the heifer pen with their extreme sogginess and overall muscle. Be sure to check out Memphis on sale day, he’s one we think has a bright future.
Midas is the first bull out of Oakview Ginger 340G, who has graced our herd with two exceptional females so far. Midas is another polled Advantage son who exhibits the same natural thickness and eye appeal that we have come to admire in the Advantage calves. To say that the Nug Advantage has worked well in our herd would be an understatement. All of his calves are thick, with lots of growth and demand your attention. Midas is smooth shouldered, with lots of rib shape and exceptional width from behind.

Motto is out of a heavy producing female who goes back to BLCC Krystal 23K, a Houston daughter, who was known for her perfect udder and how well she passed that udder on to her offspring. The genetics don’t lie, OVS 257G, Motto’s dam has a picture perfect udder and milks hard.

RICH MC POL GAME CHANGER 33K OAKVIEW ACHIEVE 44A
Oakview Munroe is out of a powerful, bigger framed Evolution cow. Once again you can see BLCC Krystal in the pedigree, indicating that maternal strength and udder quality are bred into this bull. Munroe is a smooth made long bodied bull who moves out well and is backed by a tremendous cow, what more can you ask for?
62 Maxim 22M OAKVIEW
POLLED FULLBLOOD
The final Game Changer son on offer this year follows suit with the others in his herd sire group. He’s smooth polled, dark red and moderate. Maxim has a smooth shoulder and lots of quarter. Maxim’s dam goes back to one of the great matrons of our herd MFI Flora 3002 who we admired for as a heavy milking cow with a perfect udder, which were traits that she passed down to her daughters.
Oakview Limitless is a heavily pigmented long yearling Hank son that screams performance. His dam is one of the most powerful cows in our herd. She is tremendously dark with lots of pigment, extra depth and muscle expression. Dixie is part of the Pixie cow family who consistently produces top notch bulls and heifers alike. Here is a solid made bull with a big hip, deep flank and huge top.
Loyalty is an October born bull that really displays that herd bull look. He’s long spined with a big square hip. Loyalty’s dam is a dark red easy doing female with great feet and legs that is one of the foundation females in our fall program.
Rounding out the long yearling section of Hank sons we have a smooth made bull with great neck extension. This long spined bull is heavily pigmented with red down to his front hooves and small hind white socks.
Motley is the total package. Here’s a soggy made Hank son that is deep bodied with a huge barrel. This well balanced hairy bull has a deep set quarter, sound feet and legs. In addition to being a phenotypically appealing bull, he’s also backed by a great set of EPD’s showing strength in maternal traits as well as performance. Motley is out of a first calver who completely out did herself her with this excellent herd bull prospect.
HANK 50H
FOXY 167F
The Hank calves are known for being moderate birth weight, calving easy and being heavily pigmented. Another trait that we admire Hank for is his ability to correct udders. Hank’s dam had the most perfectly square tidy udder with ideal teat size and placement. We are seeing those same udders in his daughters. Montague is a big topped thick bull with a low birth weight and moderate package. Here’s a bull that will calve easy and leave you with daughters you won’t want to part with.
Monty is a blend of calving ease and performance. Rocket, who is also the sire of Hank, was purchased as a calving ease bull. He would moderate birth weight while still producing a powerful calf. Slapshot on the bottom is known as a performance bull that added thickness and power to his offspring. Monty is a very long spined powerful bull with lots of pigment that flows down to his hooves. Don’t miss out on this well-balanced bull that checks a lot of boxes.
KIKI 381K
Calving ease and maternal strength! Marcus is a dark and stylish bull that is soggy made yet smooth through the shoulder with a small head. Here’s a bull with a 12.0 calving ease EPD, putting him in the top 15% of the breed. This big goggled bull has a wide loin and square hip. Its not everyday that you find a bull that will calve easy yet still leave you with a powerful and thick made calf.
Another year has passed and another chapter of the OPT Bull sale is upon us. As many of you know we had our inaugural OPT female sale in mid December. It was a huge success and we would like to thank those of you that supported us in bidding or buying the bred females we had on offer.
The Collins family is always great hosts for us as a group for the bull sale. Its seems like yesterday we were all scratching our heads as to how we were going to set up pens, water, and put the whole sale together. Now after 5 years at the farm, it’s just like clockwork; it seems to come together with very little effort.
Our bull pen as always has a variety of top quality bulls for you to choose from. Whether you are looking for a top performance bulls or a moderate bw bull to use on your summer calving group or even a few low birth wt bulls that you can confidently use in a heifer pen, there will be a hairy young fella for you to choose.
Our bulls are developed on a TMR balanced ration; consisting of grass hay, corn silage, S01 oats and a protein pellet. We target moderate level gains so these bulls are fed to last and remain fertile. As cattle producers we realize not every animal works for everyone and we will look after our customers in a prompt and fair manner. We always keep some extra bulls and spares for customers to use if breeding season is not going optimal.
Once again the OPT group is pleased to work with the staff of BOHRSON Marketing. First and foremost we appreciate the professionalism of the crew and we have confidence they will treat our customers in such a way that they feel they were looked after in a personal and trusted manner. If you are unable to attend the sale in person feel free to give any of them a call. If you prefer to bid online, Melissa will be at the sale with DLMS.ca, for user friendly online bidding.
Thanks for the interest in our breeding program. Please feel free to stop in at the farm anytime to view the bull before the sale.
A dark red deep bodied Loyalty son is exactly what we expected he would be out of the 44B flush cow. He has a big black foot and nice amount of bone to compliment that expansive rib shape. He is a flush mate to the OPT Female Event high selling heifer that went the Bar CL and 2K Springs. Just like his sister the bull is easy keeping and with his mothers track record should be a breeding piece to move your herd in the right direction. This guy will certainly be one to what for on March 10.
HOMO POLLED
This guy knocks it out of the park. A performance bull through and through. With a long spine, and good spring of rib, he is full hearted and moves around in a proud manner that a true herd bull should. You may question that bit of bw, but look at how long spined this guy is, that bit of extra length goes along way when it comes time to sell you calves. He is top of his class for weaning weight. His mother is a good bodied nice uddered cow from the WLB dispersal. Bentley breeding has hit a home run with her.
HOMO POLLED COLOR TEST PENDING
This is a big time bull from a no miss cow family. This year we retired Bentley, we are truly saddened. He contributed a lot to our herd and his offspring have been more than well received by our customers. We had sold a full sib to this guy a few years back and approached that customer about buying him back. He is so much like Bentley. 268M is patterned exactly the same, long bodied and stout made. His cowboy cut dam is an excellent milking square uddered cow. I think if you are looking for a performance black baldy bull with a great cow family behind them, look no further.
PUREBRED CA-BPG1491596 - PLCC 2178M - 10/2/2024 IPU BENTLEY
A full brother to last year’s high seller to Mandan Lakes Simmentals of ND. This guy is an ultra low bw bull out of a tremendous cowboy cut daughter. He has a good heavy hair coat and moved freely. This smooth made bull would work great on a group of second calvers.

One of the youngest bulls in the sale. He is heavy haired and has a huge hip. Bentley x Captain Blaze sure to make this an awesome pedigreed bull. A genetic combination you will find is getting more prevalent in our cow herd. His dam is a beautiful angular cow with a near perfect udder. Get a really good look at this guy, his future is bright.
HOMO POLLED
The Potent sons are truly impressive. This bull was easy to catch your eye on pasture this summer. His heavy milking Hot iron daughter has been really good for us and cranks out some pretty impressive progeny. A masculine bull with a very proud head. He has that length of spine to add some extra pounds to his calf crop. Could be a real money maker here.
HOMO POLLED
An early maturing stud here. He has always had the herd bull look. We really admire his mother, a massive bodied well made cow. She has a couple of our very best and attractive daughters in the herd. With an impressive track record we flushed her to Potent. This bull reminds me a lot of Potent. Massive muscle shape and a bit extra bone. The heaviest bull in the pen. You will have to wear out a set of tires on your F250 to find a powerful stud like this guy. He’s the real deal.
Medicine Man is a long spined individual. His dam is a heavy milking big bodied cow. Liam successfully showed a full sib to this guy in 4H last year. Look for this guy to add some length and pounds at weaning to your calf crop.
Our good ol’ Sochi cow, who we affectionately call “Myrna”. She produces the good ones year after year. Here is a smooth made bull that will calve very well. That cool blaze face is sure to add some jingle in your jeans when it comes time to sell those calves.

The Bella cow family always brings an added bit of calving ease. A nice made red bull that is balanced and very sound. He moves well on a wide base and is sure to grow to be an attractive mature bull. We sold a maternal sib to Schweizter / McColl Simmentals at the

A Loyalty son that is made as we would expect from Loyalty… Stout. As you may have heard me say before, we really love the Cuddles cow family. The 2C cow entered our flush program a few years back, the mother of this bull was one of the reasons why. Her Loyalty son in 2024 sold to Lil Chicks Cattle Co, a bull I really admired. She is a big bodied cow with a flawless udder, a feminine made cow with good maternal instincts and is very docile. Docility is one other the most important qualities our herd has, and is one of our highest criteria in bulls that make our bull pen. This moderate framed bull is sure to sire top replacements for your herd along with easy fleshing bulls and steers. A well bred breeding piece here.
Here is a bull that is sired by our high selling bull a couple years back to Reagan Schlacter. He calved very well and we have Ai’d some heifers to him for the last two years. This bull reminds me a lot of him. A mellow moderate bull that is super quiet. Lots of middle and a good hip. This smooth shouldered bull will be a great addition to your herd. The scream heifer is nice made fancy fronted upcoming cow. She has a nice tidy udder with small teats, everything we hope for with our first calvers.
HOMO POLLED
Accunanattata…… its means “No Worries”. And that exactly what you will have with this bull. A nice dark red bull that has a great soft pattern. He is not extreme in anyway. An all around good bull from our new herd sire Contender. A bull that should sire moderate birth weight progeny with good growth. We look for good things in the future from his offspring.
An outstanding solid bull from the Annie cow family. He has a good wide top and hip. This bull has grown to be one of my favorite solid black bulls in the pen. Look for him to pass on that moderate birth weight we are expecting from our Contender bull. He is a bull we bought with our commercial customers in mind. He was a 78lb birth weight in a top 20% performance package. We are always trying to find those curve bending genetics.
Once in a while I purchase embryos on a whim. This ET calf has turned out great. Rancher x MRL 8465F. A cow that has an outstanding profile and udder quality. We were fortunate to have 2 heifers that we retained in the herd and recently calved. They look to be everything we hope for. This bull was a smooth attractive front third and is long spined. He is a bull that could have an exciting future.
For many years we have been breeding Captain Blaze and for good reason. To find a bull that calves so well and has a great birth to yw spread and has impeccable females is truly a blessing. This bull is a long bodied red bull that I really like. His smooth shoulder will be an asset for his future. His mother is an On Target out of the old flush cow doll. We have had a few full sisters go through the herd and they are fantastic cows.

We had a hand full of Wichita calves this past year. They are medium framed and hairy. This is a good level topped son. This bull’s mother is a good 12 year old cow. She has an outstanding udder, the kind we hope all 12 year old cows have.

Thick and hairy, no other way to describe him. A smaller framed bull that will no doubt add dimension and substance to his calf crop. These Ripcord cows are moderate and easy keeping.
A feature Wichita son. Just check out his epds. This could be your next outcross heifer bull. He has a tidy head and smooth made. He has more than adequate thickness and rib dimension. His dam is another of the Capt. Blaze full sibs in the Bella cow family. This guy’s mother had a bred heifer off of Blundstone in the OPT Female Event that was a high seller to Lewis farms. As a side note her birth weight was only 76 lbs. and momma has never had a calf over 80. Consistency in birth weight on the maternal side is huge when selecting a heifer bull. I really think this is a bull that should go out and breed many heifers with the utmost in satisfaction for his new owner.
So this bull belongs to Tanya’s cousin, Charolette Kosier. She has really taken to showing in the last few years. Although she has grown up on a farm with commercial Herfords, she knew that the Simmental crowd was much more fun and exciting (Lol). At the Rplus dispersal she had Nate select a few heifer calves and was lucky enough to come away with this guy’s mother. I bred her to Shear Fire for Char and she showed her as a bred and then successfully campaigned her with this guy at side in the summer. She asked if we would put him in our bull sale and of course we said yes. The dam is a typical 5015C with a nice tidy udder and small teats. She has good maternal instincts and is very docile. I really like the way this bull has developed. He is loose made and very correct, he strides out and hits his holes. Being a black blaze faced calf with calving easy genetics he is certain to be a sale favorite.
A 5015C son that is typical of his offspring. They are level topped cattle with great hip. He is very fluid in his movement. His dam is a nice dark red heavy milking Epic daughter. I really feel this guy fits right in the line of a good bull to use on second calvers. A moderate birth weight with some calving ease genetics on both sides of the pedigree.
A bull with a beefy profile. He is a Bentley ET calf out of our 9B cow. 9B was off course the dam of PLCC Potent 309H. She is one of the deepest bodied cows you will find and has a near perfect udder with lots of space from front to back. This dark red bull has a tremendous hair coat and boast a big square hip. He is moderate framed and has a nice neck extension. He will be most valued for replacement females but will also give you the bulls and steers that will bring a premium in years to come.
HOMO POLLED, HETERO BLACK
A low birth weight Contender son. This cow consistently has low birth weights, having Loaded Up will definitely contribute to the low birth. The Painted Lady is a heavy milking cow that has the squarest udder on the farm, my main cow man used to be a dairy guy; he thinks her teat placement in impeccable. The bull himself is one of the younger bulls in the sale and is surely to grow into a bull that will breed heifers for a number of years for his new owner.
HOMO POLLED
A calf from a heifer we purchased from Labatte Simmentals. Top Tier has been used on many heifers for several years. His dam is a long bodied cow that looks to have and udder that will last for many any years. A really nice red low bw bull.
HOMO POLLED, HOMO BLACK
A low birth weight bull out of a big sided Wilcox cow. A good balanced set of epds. She is consistent; a full brother in last year’s sale had an 81lb bw. He sold to M5 Land and Cattle of Deloraine.
HOMO POLLED, HETERO BLACK
Just what we expect from Captain Blaze, a low birth weight. This is another bull that could be used in a spring calving program that is sure to be hands free. The Rachel cow family has always been consistent producers of good cattle.
HOMO POLLED, HETERO BLACK
If you are looking for a bull with that bit of extra style look no further. A young bull that will surely grow into a very striking mature bull. He is a Bentley son and his dam, although unregistered Is a Captain Blaze out of a really nice red angus cow. She belongs to our main man Jon. Appropriately named Massey….. Jonny loves Massey.
