Hello, my name is Elle Flaig and this is my 6th steer project. Empire has been the easiest steer to work with during my busy rodeo season. This year I qualified for AHSRA provincials, my steer funds help get me and my horses down the road. Empire is hand fed twice a day and always comes running to the feed. Thank you to the Kolbs and Bohrsons for buying my Waygu steer last year! Come by to meet me and learn more about Empire!
KASHTON ZIEBARTH
Kashton is 16 years old and in Grade 10. Kash is a huge animal lover and competes in Team Roping & Tie Down Roping in High School Rodeo and local rodeos. This year he has qualified for the High School Provincials in Team Roping. Kashton enjoys working with his Steer. Spitfire has been awesome to work with throughout the year. Next year his goal is to do more Clipping/ Fitting and get better at showmanship. Kashton plans to buy his first truck if there is a profit from the sale of his steer.
I am Sloan Walker and this is my 5th year in High Steaks. I am 15 years old and I am a grade 10 student at Hugh Sutherland School. This year I won the Senior division public speaking in our club. My steer this year is a SM x AN cross named Kash. When I’m not doing stuff with my steer I enjoy riding bulls. This year I will be riding in the WRA, LRA, and FCA associations. My steer profits help me get down the road to all my rodeos, so whoever buys my steer, I market them on social media as one of my sponsors.
STECKLY
Brock is fourteen years old and in his fifth year of High Steaks. He enjoys playing hockey, playing his guitar and working with his steer Shamu and other farm animals. He has learned a lot from going to High Steaks and is excited for future events and sales. He owns a small herd of purebred black angus, purchased from Diamond T Cattle. This June Brock will be running his first half marathon with his Dad in Canmore.
LONDON MATTHEWS
Hi my name is London and this is my steer Gold Digger or “Goldie”. I am 15 years old and my passion is showing steers and I go to as many shows as I can through out the year. I have been successfully showing Goldie all spring and he has racked up 5 Grand Champion Titles and 3 Reserve Champion Steer Titles to date. Goldie is massive in his loin and hind quarter with still keeping that show steer look. I would like to thank all of my past buyers for supporting my passion in this industry.

Welcome to the 5th annual high steaks show and sale. I have been a member for all 5 years and have enjoyed every one of them. This year I selected my steer from Daines fall prospects sale and he was my top pick. Thank you buyers, bidders and everyone for your support. I hope to put the proceeds of my sale towards purchasing a mig welder so I can practice welding at home.
Hi I’m Stella Mader and this is my fifth year in the High Steaks Junior Beef Club. My steers name is Billy and he is a Simmental Cross. Outside of High Steaks, I enjoy showing cattle and playing hockey. I am one of the older kids in the club and love to help younger kids. Thank you for supporting people like me who are the future of the beef industry.
AURORA MIERKE
Hi my name is Aurora Mierke, I am 14 and this is my first year in High Steaks Junior Beef Club! I named my steer Coal. He is a Hereford-Black Angus X from the Harvie Ranching herd. This year Coal has worked great, very calm and collected and hasn’t caused me any issues. Having a steer project has been a big learning curve but it has been very exciting to watch my steer learn and grow with me. Other things I enjoy to do outside of the club is Volleyball and Competitive Dance. I am super excited to see you on sale day!
KARSEN VAN SICKLE
Hi I am Karsen Van Sickle I’m 13 years old my steers name is Black Ice, he is a purebred Black Angus, if your looking for a steer that will marble a high AAA or prime, he is the steer for you. He has incredible cover and natural muscle mass. In my free time I like to show cattle, dirtbike , and work in the field. I would like to invite you to our 5th annual High Steaks Junior Beef show and sale on May 31st @ Olds Regional Exhibition, Mega Dome.
HARPER WALKER
Hi! I’m Harper and I’m almost 14 years old. This is my 5th year in the High Steaks Junior Beef Club, and I’m proud to present my steer, Bartholomew—an Angus x Clubby x Maine cross from Daine’s Auction. He’s been a steady, hard-working project with lots of personality. We’ve already hit the show road together, including the Claresholm Junior Stock Show in April, and I also took part in our club’s public speaking competition in March. I’m passionate about cattle, rodeo, and the western way of life, and I’m involved in ABRA, WRA, LRA, FCA, CARA, Jr. High School Rodeo, and the Crooked Horn Rodeo Association. TINLEY HARVIE
Tinley has been in the club since its inception and enjoys the hands on aspects of the HSJBC. Her steer named “Gravy Train” is a homegrown Charolais. He has been a great eater and shows all indications of a high marbling and yielding steer. Tinley enjoys fitting and showing at cattle shows, is an avid Basketball player and spends much of her spring and fall on the Alberta Junior High School Rodeo circuit. Tinley would like to offer the buyers of her steer a sponsor spot on her apparel & promotions as she rodeos across Alberta this next year. Tinley is looking forward to seeing everyone sale day!

Aubrey is in her second year as a member of the High Steaks Junior Beef Club. At 13 years old, she is currently in grade 7. Outside of working with her show cattle, Aubrey enjoys playing hockey, badminton, skiing, and golf. She selected Dark Stalker from our family herd last fall and has already taken him to a couple of junior shows this spring. Aubrey would like to express her sincere gratitude to Steelhaus Technologies for their past support in purchasing her previous steers.

ISABELLA SCHIERMAN
Bella is 12 years old, and worked very hard on her SimAngus steer SunFlower this year, she calved him out last winter and has loved watching him grow into the beefy guy he is today. Bella also plays hockey and competitive fastball, so far this season she has hit 5 home runs and counting!
Hi I’m Hawkin Mader and I have been in the High Steaks Junior Beef Club since it started 5 years ago. My steers name is Allen and he is a Simmental Cross steer. A few of my other favorite hobbies other than showing cattle, I also enjoy playing hockey and lacrosse. Thank you for always supporting people like me who love cattle and are hoping to be the future of the beef industry.
KAISLEE ZIEBARTH
Kaislee loves horses, Junior Rodeos & her Market Steer. She is 13 years old and in Grade 7. Kaislee just qualified for her 2nd Alberta Junior High Rodeo Provincial Finals in 4 of her 5 events. Kaislee enjoys working with her Steer and she is looking forward to a summer of riding her horses Dash & Jigsaw . Kaislee’s 5th year with a Market Steer has been great with lots of learning. Her steer was awesome to work with. Next year her goal is to do more clipping & Fitting. Kaislee plans to save her earnings for Custom Barrel Racing saddle.

My name is Chick Harvie, I am 12 years old and this is my 5th year in the club. This year, I will be selling my steer “BANDIT”. Out of all my steers I’ve raised, Bandit has been my absolute favorite. My steer and I even managed to participate in a few junior jackpot shows this spring which I’m thankful for. Many people describe me as an old soul... I’m a passionate hunter, trapper and fisherman who loves to show cows!
DEVIN STECKLY
Devin is 11 years old and in his 5th year of High Steaks Junior Beef. Devin enjoys playing hockey, and will be playing for the U13AAA for the Airdre Junior Xtreme. Devin enjoys horseback riding, snowboarding, and is learning the acoustic guitar. Devin, along with his siblings has also started his own small herd of purebred angus cattle from Diamond T Cattle.
DANE DEEG
Dane has a passion for everything cow related, so for him to join High Steaks was a no brainer. Dane is becoming a huge asset on the farm and his knowledge on our cowherd blows everyone away when he’s doing the tours. He found Prime Rib while helping our neighbours move their cows last fall and had to cut a deal! The effort he has put into Prime Rib has created a great bond for Dane to really enjoy this process. Dane looks forward to the social aspect that comes with sale day and can’t wait to talk with you May 31st on his steer!

My name is Gracie Bohrson and I just turned 12 years old. This is my 5th year in the High Steaks Junior Beef Club and I love being in this club with my friends and I’m very proud of my steer this year. My steer, Rick has been shown this spring at jackpot shows and has won his class at every show and won some division banners. Besides showing cattle, I also like playing hockey, softball, camping and spending time with friends and family. Ryles Tucker, is 11 years old and this his first year in High Steaks Junior Beef Club. His steer name is Trigger. Ryles lives on a ranch west of Cremona. He enjoys steer riding at the rodeos throughout the year and he also likes to rope. Ryles has been steer riding since he was 4.He’s always helping on the ranch. He also like hunting,fishing and trapping. If he didn’t have to go to school he would rather be riding all day .

SYDNEY VAN SICKLE
Hi i’m Sydney Van Sickle & my steers name is Gummy Bear! He is a home raised, pure Red Angus Steer. He loves his hugs, treats, & getting his back scratched, like my steer, I also like treats & don’t mind a good back scratch. I also love hanging out with my sister, playing on the farm with the kittens, working with our heifers together, & riding bikes, but nothing beats a good cattle show hanging out with all my friends!
LYLA HARVIE
Lyla is 10 years old and has been in the club since its inception. She loves showmanship and the atmosphere of learning and playing with her fellow members. Her steer Rizzler was hand picked from hundreds of calves last fall from Simpson Ranching. Rizzler is looking like he will be a high marbling steer. Lyla enjoys cattle shows, playing soccer and competing in the Alberta Junior High School circuit where she recently completed her rookie year. Lyla is offering her buyers a spot for their logo on her apparel & promotions for the next year of rodeoing across Alberta. Lyla loves ranching on her trusty horse OG and dog Violet by her side.

Hi my name is Ainsley Van Sickle & this is my 4th year in HSJB. This year my steers name is Rooty. He is a very showy home raised Red Angus steer with very wide eyes, wide top, & wide a wide hip. In my free time I like playing with kittens, sewing, & getting my heifer ready for all the summer shows we will be attending. I can’t wait to see you on May 31 & introduce you to Rooty.

Brynn is a first year High Steaks member. When she is not in an arena playing Ringette she is eager to help at the farm especially work with her steer Wor’CHESTER’shire! Chester and Brynn had an early bond as he trusted her before anyone else and it has only grown. Brynn looks forward to growing her knowledge in the beef sector and accomplishing goals along the way to her future dream job as an embryologist! She looks forward to meeting more cattle enthusiasts and visiting on with you on May 31st!
Piper is 9 years old and in her 3rd year of High Steaks.She enjoys playing with friends, playing hockey, skiing,playing the guitar and working with her steer Bruno and riding her horse Diego. She has started a purebred black angus herd, from Diamond T Cattle, and is working on growing it.
THOMAS BOHRSON
My name is Thomas Bohrson and this is my 3rd year in High Steaks. My steer, Greg is a tan steer that is super quiet and is tanky, hairy and a cool made steer that l really like. This year I learnt more about showing, public speaking and marketing cattle through the club. I enjoy working cattle and learning about cow/calf operations on our family farm. I also play lacrosse, hockey, baseball, ski, swim and enjoy camping with friends and family. I would like to thank my previous buyers of Western Litho, Prairie Ad, Abbotsford Vet, DMI, CattleVids, RME, Cam Clark, Venture and Joco.
GENTRY HARVIE
My name is Gentry Harvie and I’m 9 years old. My homegrown SimAngus steer is named “LIGHTNING STRIKE” because of his cool face markings. I’ve worked really hard on getting him halter broke and ready for this big day! Hand feeding grain twice a day has helped get him quiet and I guarantee he’ll be the best Alberta Beef you’ll ever have. My passions include showing cattle with my friends and gymnastics. My favorite event in High Steaks is public speaking!!!

This is Brigham’s first year in the High Steak Junior Beef Club, and his passion for cattle and ranching is truly inspiring. He has worked really hard on his steer, Frost, who is an absolute gem. Through this experience, Brigham has gained confidence working around cattle, and the club has proven to be a great success for him. Thank you for supporting him and his club members!

My name is Tel Harvie and I’m 7 years old. This is my first year in the High Steaks club and I’m happy to finally be able to show and sell a steer with my older siblings. “BIG BRUTIS” is my home raised Simmental steer that I’ve taken out and shown this spring. I love everything about cows and when I grow up I want to be a rancher like my parents.

Penelope Schierman is 8 years old and very excited to be in her first year of High Steaks. She has loved working with and taking care of her sim-angus Steer Coffee Crisp. She also loves to play fast ball and is her team’s starting pitcher!
DALTON DORRAN
My name is Dalton Dorran, and I’m seven years old. This is my first year of High Steaks, and I’ve enjoyed learning more about the industry. My speech was on Hockey Shots, which is fitting because I also really love hockey. I named my steer Johnny in memory of a very special hockey player, and he’s been a very kind project for me. It will be hard to say goodbye, but I’ve made many memories with my steer Johnny!
