We are very pleased with our Westcott daughters too; they stand with the top in our replacement pen. Westerner’s Gunner dam has always calved in January. She has a daughter working for Hay Valley from Calgary, Ab and sons purchased by Alfred Nash from Glaslyn Sk. and Dry Creek Simmentals at Loon Lake, Sk. Westward was mothered by our 13 year old elite Rosemary cow, she has raised twelve January born calves, you can’t argue with that fertility! She did move on to greener pastures this fall. Her last year’s good bull was purchased by M&E Farms from St.Walburg, Sk. and the year before one of our top bulls went to Nelson Family Ranches at Stirling, Ab. Barry Labatte and WJ had purchased her Black Bolt bull in 2014 and the Mader Ranches “Twinkle” cow , who has been a good donor cow for them, is also one of the several good Rosemary calves we have sold. He is a Westcott son and combined with his Red Baron/ Rusty dam, gives this bull an injection of fleck genetics that has really worked well. His productive eleven year old dam has always calved and is due again in January to our new Vegas sired herd bull. Her sons have sold to Kevin & Wendy Langer from Riverhurst, Sk. and another to Lakeside Colony & RCM from Cranford, Ab.
