Real Estate Market Update

Harrison Bocook Buyer's Agent Bocook Realty

SOLD IN 2 DAYS!

What a crazy time the last few months have been! With everything that is going on in our world and our city, we felt it would be advantageous and fitting to share the favorable numbers that Richmond Hill’s real estate market is seeing this season. Although year to date, the entire Coastal Georgia market is down -4.52%, our Richmond Hill market is actually UP 9.81% from this time last year! Even as our surrounding area’s market has slowed, Richmond Hill is outperforming and continuing to be one of the most sought-after places for families to move. During these unprecedented and uncertain times, people from all walks of life want to call Richmond Hill “home” – whether they are in the military, they are seeking an exceptional education for their families, or they just want a change of scenery. During the stay-at-home order this spring, our team introduced virtual

home showings and we were able to assist both our buyers and sellers cautiously and compassionately. Thinking about selling your home? Or, want to go over the numbers? Give us a call!

Richmond Hill Coming Together

Val’s Village

This past Memorial Day Weekend, Richmond Hill resident and teacher Valerie Feske was enjoying some fun in the sun with neighbors when she suffered a tragic, fluke accident on an inflatable waterslide leaving her paralyzed with an ASIA A C7 spinal cord injury. In less than 24 hours, the Richmond Hill community was ready to rally for Valerie and support her in her recovery. Spearheaded by community member Maria Knight, the Val’s Village movement aims to raise funds to assist with Valerie’s medical bills as well as provide encouragement and support for Valerie and her family as she recovers at Shepherd Center Rehabilitation in Atlanta. Within a few days of its creation, the Val’s Village Facebook page had over 6,000 followers and Valerie’s story had made national headlines. It has been inspiring to watch the Richmond Hill community come together to fight for Valerie who is already making impressive progress towards a full recovery. Val’s Village’s tagline says it best: “It takes a village, and Val has the best one!” To donate or get involved with Val’s Village, follow “Val’s Village” on Facebook for the latest information and the link to the Val’s Village gofundme: Facebook.com/Vals-Village-101310321606971/

Meet The Robinsons

Buyer Spotlight

Win This!

Polly and Buck Robinson met in the fourth grade and dated on and off through high school and college. After two years of marriage living in Atlanta, they felt the call to foster a relative’s twin boys and simultaneously found out that they were expecting a baby of their own. They knew it was time to move closer to family, and honed in on Richmond Hill for its small town feel and great school system. There was an opening at the high school where Buck is now a teacher and football coach, and Polly found a job as a nurse in Bluffton. Everything just fell into place. After renting a three-bedroom townhouse through Bocook Home Rentals, they knew that they wanted to buy their own home as soon as they could. So, before their lease was up in May of 2020, they began to work with Bocook Realty to find the perfect home for their family. “We worked with Ashley, who felt like more of a friend than our agent. We were first-time homebuyers, and she was super supportive throughout the entire process and answered our phone calls any time of day or night,” said Buck. The couple is so happy in their new home in Dunham Marsh, and they love living in Richmond Hill where they’ve seen community take center stage. As Buck put it, “It’s a larger town with around 2,000 students in the high school, but it still feels

2. Make It Picture Perfect: Fall is one of the most pleasant times to be outdoors on the Georgia coast: use this to your advantage. Have a large front porch? Equip it with new rocking chairs so your buyers can envision themselves enjoying the scene with their morning coffee there.

3. Get A Home Inspection: Most buyers will ask for a home inspection when submitting an offer on your home. To prevent any surprises, you may want to have an inspection completed before you list your home so that you can fix any potential issues before going on the market.

4. Consider Upgrades: Kitchens and bathrooms pack the biggest punch, but you also may consider quick and easy fixture upgrades like cabinet knobs, showerheads, and light fixtures that can make a big impact without the big price tag.
