Within their restructuring of the entire university facilities, the Technical University of Central Hesse is planning the new construction of a laboratory and technology centre (LTZ). The new construction of the LTZ is aimed at bringing together the departments of Hospital and Medical Technology and Environmental and Biotechnology and to also integrate the natural science departments (Chemistry and Physics) into the campus. The planning sees three complexes with an interconnecting lower storey with centrally located underground parking. The measures are supported by HEUREKA, the programme supporting university construction work of the state of Hesse.

The office tower (building 302) was erected in 1972 and comprehensively renovated in 2002. It is mainly used as an office building and consists of 7 upper ground and 2 underground storeys. The areas of the Operations Control Center (OCC) and Hub Control Center (HCC) are clearly demarcated and set apart (the OCC coordinates the global LH flight operations, while the HCC optimises the passenger flows at the FRA hub and is responsible for the coordination of ground operations). However, these areas still intensively and regularly interact with each other. To ensure holistic coordination and optimisation of the entire airline operations (aircraft, crew, passenger flows), it was decided to consolidate these two departments as IOCC in building 302.
