Let ter From the Principal Dear Parents and Friends of Bishop Montgomery Volleyball, Welcome to the 2013 volleyball season! Each new season is exciting and this one is no different. Our head coach, Kevin Norman, along with his coaches has worked hard to prepare our student-athletes for the challenges ahead. Under his leadership, I know that each young man who has chosen to participate in the program has made a commitment to excellence and hard work in the best Bishop Montgomery tradition. We look forward to seeing the results of their hard work in the gym.

Thank you to all of you, parents and friends, who give your support to these young men in both their academic and athletic endeavors. Thanks, too, to our athletic administration as well as the members of the Booster Club for all of their work and support.

Let ter From the Athletics Dear Bishop Montgomery Volleyball Fans, Welcome to the 2013 Volleyball Season! Coach Kevin Norman and his staff have been hard at work in order to put together another successful team here at Bishop. The effort and enthusiasm these young men have put forth will no doubt result in some exciting matches. Their commitment and intensity will certainly continue to build the Bishop Montgomery Boys Volleyball team. I am excited to watch our Knights this season as I am sure you are.

Thank you to all the parents, teachers, staff members, student body and sponsors who support and contribute to the success of this program. The success of the program is not possible without the support of everyone in the Bishop Montgomery community. I am thankful everyday for the support and passion that keeps this program successful and I know that Coach Norman and every young man in the program appreciate and rely on your continued support.

This season will be full of exciting and competitive matches. I can’t wait to see you in the stands cheering on our Knights!

Let ter From the Coach

Welcome to Bishop Montgomery, I am looking forward to yet another exciting season with our Boys Volleyball Team. This will be my sixth season with the Knights.

BMHS has always had student/athletes that excel not only athletically but even more importantly, academically. We are tenacious competitors and also demonstrate excellent sportsmanship.

We are blessed with such a terrific, extremely talented and hardworking coaching staff; Collin Cooper, Liz Hazell, and new to the staff this year, 2010 Alumni, Leeone Legaspi. Their knowledge of the game, work ethic and positive leadership skills are invaluable.

The Boys’ Volleyball Program has Eighteen League Championships, were 1996 CIF Finalists, in 2007, 2008 and 2010 were Semifinalists and have produced 20 all CIF Players with some having 2 or more consecutive awards.

Last season we fell to Santa Monica, 2011 CIF Champions and eventual 2012 CIF finalists. We also split in regular season with Cathedral the Del Rey and 2012 CIF Champions. We have four returning starters from Varsity as well as a strong core from our JV and FS teams.

We hope to see you at more of our upcoming matches this Spring. We always have an extremely tough preseason schedule that prepares us both physically and mentally for a tough Del Rey League season.

Kevin Norman: Varsity Head Coach • 2007- present, Head Varsity Boys Volleyball Coach at BMHS. • 2 years Varsity volleyball at San Marino High School 1986-88 was named on the All League and All Area Team.

• University of California at Irvine 1988-91 starting outside hitter as a freshman and led conference in Digs/Game.

• Competed in the 1990 Olympic Festival for the West Team.

• Competed professionally in the local AVP events throughout the Ninety’s.

• Has trained local beach pros both men and women for the past 12 years.

• Coached SCVA Boys & Girls Club Volleyball from 1991-2003.

• JV Boys and Asst. Varsity Coach at RUHS for 8 years.

• Assistant Varsity Girls Coach at RUHS for 7 Years.
