From the Principal: Ms. Rosemary Distaso-Libbon, Principal Dear Parents, In the spring of last year, I began thinking about a theme for the 2013-2014 school year. My hope is that the theme permeates every aspect of school life. So what is this theme? It is: “Discover your Magnum Opus, “ your “great work”—not just the great work we are each seeking to do, our mission in life, but the great work that we each are because of our many gifts from God and the realization that God is in us. My hope is that our students continue to learn that their work here is to search for that work, that mission that they are each called to do, and that they strive to be the very best people that they can be each and every day—to become that “great work” that God intends each of us to be. The theme will be evident from the first day of school when the students step on campus. This is a place “where great things happen” because in this community that is Bishop Montgomery we have wonderful students, caring and accomplished teachers, and loving parents. So, having said all of this, welcome to the 2013-2014 school year! Many people have worked this summer to prepare for the coming school year. Ms. Vigon-Morffi, our Vice-Principal, Mr. Miller, our Assistant Principal, Mrs. Dunn, our Director of Curriculum and Admissions, and our Deans, Mr. Flores and Ms. Behen deserve particular thanks for completing the seemingly endless tasks that are necessary to prepare for the new school year. We are blessed to have these talented and dedicated administrators serving Bishop Montgomery. For your information the members of the Administrative Team are: Rosemary Libbon, Principal, Yvette Vigon-Morffi, Vice-Principal, and Steve Miller, Assistant Principal. This is an important night as are all of the other tools we use for communication: the Parent-Student Handbook, the monthly Parent Newsletter which includes the current month’s updated calendar, our school website where you can communicate with teachers via email as well as access student grades and monitor their academic progress. We also communicate with global telephone calls and emails when appropriate, with information on our school marquee, and through school mailings. We certainly count on your attention to these messages which will help you stay current with the activities of your student’s high school life.
