This year’s HSC cohort achieved outstanding results, with many students exceeding their own expectations. These achievements reflect not only their dedication and work ethic but also the supportive learning environment fostered at our school and the expertise of our staff. Beyond their academic success, this graduating class was a remarkable group of young people who contributed meaningfully to all aspects of school life.
Among the many highlights, we celebrate William Louis, whose composition was selected for the prestigious HSC Showcase Encore, as well as Sienna Coleman, Ivy Downes, and Leyna Hawkes, who each received OnStage nominations for HSC Drama. Additionally, Jonathan McHugh’s work in Design and Technology earned a nomination for the HSC Showcase SHAPE exhibition—an incredible achievement.
For a non-selective school that welcomes students of all abilities, these results speak volumes about the dedication of our students and the unwavering support provided by our staff, families, and friends.
Notably, 25% of our students achieved an ATAR of 90 or above, while 50% attained an ATAR of 80 or higher. However, we take equal pride in those who, through consistent effort, significantly improved their results—whether moving from a Band 3 to Band 4 or achieving personal academic milestones beyond their expectations.
We are immensely proud of every student. Here are just a few of our Class of 2024, and what they’ll be doing next.

As one of Australia’s longest-standing independent schools, Blue Mountains Grammar School is deeply committed to its place in the Blue Mountains and Western Sydney.
Our students have a long history of supporting both local and global communities. They have raised funds for cancer research, helped provide meals for people experiencing homelessness, and contributed resources to build libraries in disadvantaged schools overseas. At times, this has meant standing firm alongside their peers for what is right.
Whatever the challenge, we are dedicated to designing learning experiences that empower our students with real-world solutions. We want them to see a need and have the confidence to take action. Why? Because the world needs courageous, purposeful leaders now more than ever.
