an ‘Outstandingly Well-led’ provider (CQC report 2020) A recent WHICH? survey revealed that almost a third of respondants had concerns about the quality of care they had received with common issues cited being: -
Rushed and shortened care visits (often due to carers having over-full schedules) Untrained staf Cancelled visits (often due to lack of capacity) Constant turnover of staf leading to a lack of continuity of care Poor communication Lack of transparency with pricing and contract terms and conditions Complaints not being dealt with in a timely and satisfactory fashion
It is clear from this research that not all care providers are the same and home care should not be seen as a commodity. Although price is one diferentiator, the quality of care delivered varies hugely in our sector and these diferences are key when deciding which provider to trust to deliver the highest quality care.

Unique terms of employment for our care staf Bluebird Care is totally focussed on the wellbeing of our staf and we work hard to attract, retain and train the very best. As part of this committment we ofer salaried contracts of employment to all our care staf which ensures they are paid fairly and well above the prevailing National Living Wage. This way of employing staf in the care industry is unique and attracts and retains quality people which in turn raises the quality of the care that we can provide. With our competitors only ofering zero hours contracts of employment they struggle with high levels of staf turnover, leading to inconsistent care assistant capacity, which in turn drives down the quality of their service. 2. The Bluebird Care Training Academy Our more stable and motivated work force means that we can focus on high quality training and ‘Continuous Professional Development’ delivered via our Bluebird Care Training Academy. All our staf undertake a 5 day classroom based induction training programme supplemented by formal shadowing and additional elearning modular training. This ensures they all achieve their Care Certificate and together with weekly supervisions demonstrates their competency to do the job to a high standard.
