Blue Machinery Scotland features four new products at ScotPlant 2014 Blue Machinery Scotland is a long-standing exhibitor at ScotPlant and once again, can be found at its familiar location on Avenue C, Stands 2 & 4. Making their show debuts will be the new Powerscreen Warrior 1400X mobile screener and Premiertrak 300 hydraulic jaw crusher. Also making its first UK appearance is the latest development from Doppstadt, the AK 635K mobile shredder, which will be joined by the well-established DW 2060 Bio Power shredder. From sister company Blue Fuchs comes the waste industries leading wheeled materials handler the popular and compact MHL320. Blue Scotland provides nationwide coverage from its Stirling headquarters and is well-established as Scotland’s leading single source for crushing, screening, washing, recycling and materials handling equipment, with the clear benefit of allowing all aspects of any mining, quarrying, recycling or materials handling operation to be supplied and maintained by one experienced and well-established company. Alongside the products on show will also be a display representing Blue Spares, the Blue Group company dedicated to providing efficient, comprehensive and nationwide after sales product support, with readily available genuine original equipment manufacturers’ spare parts. Blue Machinery Scotland’s Managing Director Austin Carey says “ScotPlant is an excellent exhibition and one we have attended since our inception. Once again, we are taking the opportunity to showcase innovative screening, crushing, shredding and materials handling equipment, together with our after sales product support company Blue Spares, thereby emphasising our commitment to the recycling, quarrying and materials handling markets that we serve throughout Scotland and North East England. We are excited about the future and feel that the market is well on the road to recovery. New product developments from our OEM partners ensure our continued growth, enabling us to provide an enhanced offering to our customers. We are also happy to offer a free demonstration or site visit on any of our ranges.”
Two New Machines From TEREX Powerscreen The Premiertrak 300 single toggle jaw crusher has an output of up to 200 tonnes per hour and is designed for medium scale operations in quarrying, demolition, recycling and mining applications. The crusher has the option of a vibrating grizzly feeder or a large, fully independent hydraulically driven pre-screen which improves fines removal and reduces chamber wear costs. Alongside the independent pre-screen feature, an optional hydraulically folding extended side conveyor has been added to improve stockpile capacity. A new bypass chute design includes a ‘flap gate’ to allow the operator to switch between using the side conveyor or
sending the material to the main belt without the need to fit a blanking mat on the bottom screen deck. The Premiertrak 300 is available with either hydraulically adjustable closed-side setting, which can be adjusted in a matter of minutes by a single operator, or as an R300 version with hydraulic release, incorporating a proven mechanism to allow the chamber to ‘dump’ and pass un-crushable material, which is ideal in recycling applications. Another option designed for recycling duties is a hydraulically adjustable deflector plate. The crusher’s new hopper design incorporates a complete hydraulic fold and lock system which can be raised and lowered from ground level and full hopper extensions are available to further increase capacity. The Premiertrak 300 has compact transport dimensions that provide savings on transport costs and times. Weighing in at approximately 36 tonnes and featuring two-speed tracking, the crushing plant is mobile and agile on site and, for the operator, an “intuitive” control panel allows machine settings to be changed easily and provides excellent diagnostics for fault-finding if required. The Warrior 1400X mobile screening plant is equally at home screening, two or three-way splitting and stockpiling a wide variety of materials in the most difficult and demanding applications, including face blasted material and crushed stone, construction and demolition debris, overburden, composted material, processed ores and minerals. Its predecessor, the Warrior 1400, has been the backbone of the Warrior range for the past decade and the new, upgraded Warrior 1400X has been extremely well received since its launch. Boasting a fast set-up time and with rugged low ground pressure tracks, this mobile screening plant provides excellent mobility and site agility in spite of its size and optimum output potential of 300 tonnes per hour, which depends on mesh size and material. The Warrior 1400X has a large, heavy-duty and wear-resistant hopper, a heavy-duty feed conveyor and a highly aggressive 2-bearing screenbox with a 10mm stroke (12mm option available). The underscreen conveyor is accessible via a jackup screen feature and the stockpiling conveyors are oversize, hydraulically folding and angle adjustable.
UK Show Debut for Doppstadt
Fuchs Waste Handler
Two shredders from the Doppstadt range are on show – one of which is the new AK 635K mobile high-speed shredder which is being exhibited for the first time in the UK.
The MHL320D is in the 17-19 tonnes class and ideal for waste transfer and processing plants. The 85kW engine output provides power to spare and the machine’s hydrostatic drive and 7m turning circle ensures agility around the site.
The AK 635K is at the high end of the Doppstadt AK range and is a fully mobile track-mounted high-speed shredder designed for the most demanding shredding and size reduction tasks. A new flail system ensures a more aggressive infeed, less overlengths and an even more effective and efficient large volume throughput with a higher flywheel mass, which contributes to a 20% increase in capacity when compared with the previous system; flail tips do not bend and there is a more intensive shredding of logs and stumps. Additionally a new wedgeless system reduces flail tips exchange time by up to 30%. The new AK 635K also features less impacts from the shredding compartment, leading to less wear in the whole drive. Smoother control of the low emission Mercedes-Benz OM 502 LA diesel engine significantly reduces fuel consumption. The generously sized discharge conveyor (6.15m X 1.5m, belt speed 2.25m/s) produces a discharge height of 4.569 metres for optimum stockpiling. The AK 635K comes with grinding basket, 30-220 mesh sizes for precise end-product sizing, plus remote control as standard. Optional extras include a magnetic pulley, damping facility and overband magnet for safe removal of tramp metals. The highly successful DW-2060 Bio Power is capable of handling timber and woodwaste, mixed construction waste and industrial refuse. Numerous features include optimum tooth arrangement on the roller, reversible fan wheel, modified hopper shape for easy loading, electrically controlled roller reversing and a large return conveyor. Additionally, an overband magnet at the front end safely removes tramp metals from the incoming raw waste. The DW-2060 Bio Power produces recyclables to exacting specifications in a single pass and enables significant volume reductions – all with reliability, productivity and fuel economy.
The MHL 320D features four hydraulic outriggers to provide optimum stability for static loading work. The infinitely variable hydraulically height adjustable cab give operators a raised line-of-sight, which is a distinct advantage for processor feeding or cargo hold loading and unloading and contributes to operational safety with enhanced visibility during the entire working process.

New fleet of vehicles for Blue Fuchs After another successful year as an accredited Terex Fuchs Three Crown distributor, Blue Machinery (Fuchs) Limited has continued to invest in their crucial after markets offering by replacing its entire fleet of service vehicles. Reflecting the company’s own commitment to its ever expanding customer base, the decision to upgrade the vehicles was taken to ensure the team’s service department was best placed to offer reliable and swift back up to Terex Fuchs operators and owners nationwide. Commenting on the recent delivery of the new fleet of Volkswagen Crafter Vehicles, Blue Fuchs Managing Director Terry Hughes said, “We are very mindful as a business that our opportunity for growth is strongly linked to our ability to look after our loyal customer base and that when they buy from us they are buying not just a top quality Material Handler but also investing in an infrastructure of service underpinning their purchase with us. We have a duty of care to continually reinvest in that same infrastructure so their level of trust in us is not misplaced.” He added, “We also spoke with our own team of field service engineers to get their feedback with regards to the choice of service vehicle manufacturer as their opinion and comfort
was, and is, of great importance to us. The Volkswagen Crafter was a unanimous choice and the lads are looking forward to getting out on the road with their new “offices”. We wish them safe driving!” The new Crafters will be taking to the road from the middle of March and will be fully equipped with all the latest specialist equipment and tools necessary to ensure maximum uptime for the many Terex Fuchs Material Handlers working throughout the UK - it’s definitely a case of Vorsprung Durch Blue Technik!

The diversification into a gas-to-grid system represents ReFood’s ongoing commitment to offering a wide portfolio of renewable energy solutions. Further AD plants being developed by ReFood in the UK will use a combination of systems to provide sales of electricity, heat, gas and other forms of renewable energy applications. The 2nd site compliments ReFood’s first UK AD plant which opened in September 2011 in Doncaster, South Yorkshire. The Doncaster plant processes approximately 45,000 tonnes of food waste per annum, collected from local shops, restaurants and cafes as well as residues from PDM Group’s pet food production plant. Doncaster has been successfully operating a Tiger HS640 machine since it opened in 2011. The success of the machine in the Doncaster plant has led to Blue Machinery (Central) securing the order for the Widnes Project. www.refood.co.uk
Fast cycle times for Tom White Waste with new Marathon baler Long standing Blue Southern customer Tom White Waste of Coventry recently installed a Marathon Galaxy Twin RAM baler to their operation. Tom White Waste is a family business, which is proud of their roots in Coventry and is committed to serving the local area with a friendly, personal approach, ensuring integrity and a professional service to all clients. The company was originally setup as a skip hire company in 1981 but since then have grown considerably to include commercial waste collections, domestic waste management and recycling services. From these small beginnings the client list has grown to include Coventry City Council, Jaguar Land Rover and Tesco amongst many other blue chips. The new Galaxy 2R250 enables us to change between materials as and when our input material comes to us in the baling area, meaning minimal downtime and optimal productivity.” Tom added, “In terms of the productivity, our soft plastic bales are weighing around 850kg, and we are getting 800kg cardboard bales out every 3 minutes, which is beyond our expectations.” www.tomwhitewaste.co.uk
Eco Sustainable turn to Backhus With a constant eye for quality products and innovation at the forefront of the ECO ethos, the recent acquisition of the Backhus 17.60 compost turner enables more efficient processing for their composting operation. Eco began in 1993 when Managing Director Trelawney Dampney identified the potential in composting landscaper’s waste on his land in Parley, Dorset and selling the end product. From small beginnings the company has witnessed rapid growth as both the environmental and social demand for sustainable resource management has increased. The evolution of Eco sees the company now employ over 50 people and operate one of the UK’s leading purpose-built sites for organics recycling and renewable energy generation, processing upwards of 250,000 tons of organic material across their four facilities. The composting arm of the business has also grown to a point where they are currently taking an average of 150 tonnes of green waste per day, with the material coming from a range of local councils, waste disposal companies and local landscape gardeners. The material then goes through a thorough process to ensure the high quality end product which is PAS 100 Standard. A vital part in the composting operation is the turning of the windrows, which ensures the temperature is consistent, helps aerate the compost to keep it from turning anaerobic, and helps break the compost up. In order to improve onsite efficiency Eco Sustainability purchased a Backhus 17.60 compost turner. The 17.60 is the world’s most commonly used turner and comes complete with a comfortable and easily accessible panoramic cabin for operative safety and comfort. Additionally, the Backhus 17.60 offers fantastic cost savings due to the exceptional fuel consumption, making it a far more cost effective method of turning large volume windrow operations than the standard wheel loader. The turner ensures a consistent size of windrow, with height and width adjustable, as well as enhanced agitation which in turn speeds up the composting process. Operations manager Justin Dapney commented “At Eco our organic recycling operation has grown significantly over the years and as a result we felt the time was right to add a turner to our operation. Our new Backhus 17.60 turner has helped speed up our process with improved cycle times and greater consistency of windrows which has ensured we continue to produce the highest quality products.” On the user friendly controls Justin added “Our operators have taken to the new machine with ease and have commented on the excellent visibility from the state of the art cabin.”

Take advantage of the new tax breaks There has never been a better time than NOW for Blue customers to buy a new machine. Normally just 18% of a business’s capital expenditure can be offset as Annual Investment Allowance (AIA) against profit each year but only on a reducing balance basis thereafter.
New equipment has never been so affordable!
Following last week’s budget, the AIA has doubled to £500,000 and extended to the end of 2015. Remember, this also applies to equipment bought on Lease Purchase & Hire Purchase too, even if the payment plan continues into 2015 and beyond. Ordering at the right time is very important to ensure that deliveries arrive in time to optimise your maximum tax savings potential.
That means it can take up to 12 years to redeem 90% of the original capital cost in tax savings. Contact us now for more information:
