Family traditions also help children understand who they are and what is important to the family to which they belong.

Traditions create a connection for children that comes from feeling like they are part of something that is unique and extraordinary. Family traditions can even contribute to a child's self-esteem and enhance their well-being. After all, children find comfort and security when things are predictable and consistent. 1 BANANA CAKE

you'll need

1 cup flour 1 teaspoon baking powder 1/4 teaspoon baking soda 1/4 teaspoon salt 1 egg 1 ripe banana 1/2 stick softened butter 3/4 cup sugar 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Sift the first 4 ingredients in a bowl that's clean and dry.

Blend everything else until smooth on speed high.

Mix the liquid into dry then pour into a greased pan dusted with flour.

Cool and serve with your favourite icecream after you bake for quarter of an hour.

Going to the beach can really be a very relaxing and rewarding experience for baby and the entire family. I recently visited 876 Beach Club in Falmouth, Trelawny. It is a

beach I would describe as a perfect spot for pickneys with soft sand and a very safe sea water level. Usually, the best part of beach time for your blooming babies is digging sand, filling up those buckets and running back and forth with sea water in their jugs. With all that cool breeze, your baby may even take a nap.

Having a Blooming Baby after a Long Break

Hear it from Kaydene, a Blooming Baby Mama with a true story.

Heart racing and palms sweating. "What does he mean by its POSITIVE? I think I’m going to pass out!!"

Yup that was my reaction, I did the test.

It had only one line. Why does this man keep saying he can feel that I’m pregnant? So Marlon went and double checked the test. It was in fact TWO lines!! Having a third child after so long wasn’t a walk in the park.

It’s like you were in a coma for a long time and you’re finally awaken only to realize you’ll

have to relearn all your basic motor skills, things that you once did so effortlessly like walking, standing and talking, will now be a task!

My eldest daughter was 17 years old and my younger daughter at the time was 14 years old. (Yup I’m a GIRL Mom

Pregnancy came with its highs and its lows. I suffered from hyperemesis gravidarum aka vomiting non stop until the day she was delivered.

Everything felt so foreign. It

was hard to imagine I’d been through it two times prior, but it was hard. I felt joy one minute and the next I was so worrisome and overwhelmed. I was in the process of moving to our new home, my eldest was getting ready to take her CSEC exams, the other had midterm exams and my fiancÊ was working overseas. Mind you, I worked all through my pregnancy. It was a lot.

The day I delivered her via C-section, my third, (whew, that’s an entirely different article), was a day of rejoicing. Genesis is here and she is healthy and perfect. With a new baby comes great responsibilities. I had to schedule my days more now, I had to develop and hone my time management skills. I had two other girls who also needed me. Life with my bright-eyed, smarty pants 19-month-old has been exhilarating and fascinating. She keeps us on our toes, along with keeping us up at nights. Genesis is a dream, a gift from God, that’s what she is. She has brought so much joy into our home and into the lives of everyone she has met. There is no handbook or article that will ever prepare you for pregnancy or motherhood. You learn as you go along. You pick up little gems here and there from other parents but in the end you’ll realize that all pregnancies and children, no matter how many you have, are all unique.

Nourish your baby with what is best based on their age.

Breastfeeding will always be the beverage of choice from 06 months and nothing else.

After that, try to feed your blooming baby with natural foods. Remember, if it is from the ground, it is good.

Read and talk with your baby.

Smart babies are those who get lots of attention through good conversation. Reading will always help to make your blooming baby smarter.

Keep your baby safe by trying your best to create and maintain a very clean and secure environment. Cleanliness and security goes beyond dirt, dust, plugs and wires. Think about what you and others may be doing around or near your blooming baby such as smoking, foul talking and unsafe things you may be handling.

In response to the econonic crisis presented by the Covid-19 pandemic, we were able to help several parents through our charity projects. These included baby care parcels, baby formula packages and baby clothing and food donations. We were only able to achieve these due to the kind consideration of product sponsors, several baby businesses across Jamaica and the donations of parents with a caring heart.

Community Cheer CHRISTMAS CHARITY

On December 23, the quiet and close-knit community of Thickets in St. Ann received some Christmas cheer from a small team of "Santas" from Blooming Baby Jamaica. With the help of caring women at the Thickets United Church, we were able to treat approximately 24 blooming babies with gifts, refreshments and Christmas joy.
