THIS STRUCTURE IS AN EXAMPLE OF GOTHIC ARCHITECUTRAL STYLE. THE DEFINING DESIGN ELEMENT OF GOTHIC ARCHITECTURE IS THE POINTED OR OGIVAL ARCH.

1 ADORATION CHAPEL

One recent addition by Rev. Fr. S. Jayanathan is a remarkable Adoration Chapel, conducive to silent prayer and meditation. It has become a popular stopping point for people in need of a few moments of quiet time with the Eucharistic Lord.

2.COMMUNITY HALL Community Hall

Cathedrals are the mother churches of their dioceses and act as focal points for services and celebrations for those worshipping in churches throughout the diocese.

The Community Hall came into existence in 1983 This hall is given for wedding receptions and religious functions and not for any business promotion activities. It can accommodate more than 500 people. It consists of a main hall, two dining halls, a stage and 2 dressing rooms besides the kitchen space, toilets and wash basins.

3 . ST PATRICKS BOYS’ HOME

Founded around the year 1850, it was aggregated in 1891.various congregations of Religious Sisters have helped with the running of the Orphanage Today the institution takes in destitute children even if they are not orphans Hence it is known as St Patrick's Boys' Home

4. ST PATRICKS CEMETERY

FIRST ESTABLISHED IN 1871. TODAY THE CEMETERY HAS BEEN DIVIDED INTO 19 PLOTS AND EACH GRAVE IS NYMBERED ON A PLAN PLOT WISE

Construction and Dedication

The foundation for St Patricks church was laid in July 1841 by Fr Jacques - Henry Gailhot, the then Roman Catholic Chaplain for the British troops, and the first Parish Priest of the church , and the church itself was built and completed in the next 3½ years, by the end of 1844

The church was consecrated as the cathedral of the Mysore Diocese on 12th November 1899 by Bishop kleiner The 3rd Eucharistic Congress in India was held here, and Bishops were consecrated here on 28th October, 1922

The church was further renovated in 2000 AD It can now comfortably accommodate 550 people within it The strength of the parish is around 3500 but its central location makes it attractive to the faithful from all parts of Bangalore as well as visitors who are spending only a short while in the city.
