Wat houdt ons gaande? Wat houdt ons creatief en vol energie? Of met andere woorden, wat ‘keeps us burning? Het bedenken van nieuwe producten geeft ons energie en blijft ons inspireren.

Bij Home Society denken we dat artikelen die terugkerende aankopen kunnen genereren van grote waarde zijn voor de retailer. Bijvoorbeeld; kaarsen “raken op” en klanten komen altijd terug voor meer.

Al meer dan 21 jaar distribueren wij Bridgewater Candles. Het grote succes is te danken aan de hoge kwaliteit en constante ontwikkeling van nieuwe geuren en producten. De Bridgewater-kaarsen hebben een solide klantenbestand opgebouwd.

Kortom, we hebben geleerd dat kaarsen verkopen! Een aantal jaren geleden introduceerden we onze Home Society pillar kaarsen en vanwege het grote succes hebben we vorig jaar de petite kaarsen ontwikkeld. Wie had ooit gedacht dat deze petite kaarsen het meest favoriete item zouden worden voor onze retailers en de consument. Over terugkerende aankopen gesproken!

Voor dit voorjaar introduceren we verschillende maten pillar kaarsen en hebben we enkele levendige kleuren toegevoegd aan onze kaarsencollectie. De pillars komen in 3 nieuwe maten en daarnaast hebben we een aantal mooie bamboe tuin fakkels en mooie buitenkaarsen in glas voor de komende zomer.

In de tussentijd werken we aan een nieuw, Home Society-kaarsenconcept voor AW2020. Maar daarover meer in het volgende magazine!

Ik wil je bedanken voor je steun en loyaliteit in de afgelopen jaren. We blijven ernaar streven om geweldige producten en service te bieden in het volgende millennium.

Cher client, Qu’est-ce qui nous fait avancer ? Qu’est-ce qui nous maintient créatifs et pleins d’énergie ? Ou en d’autres termes, qu’est-ce qui nous fait nous enflammer ? Penser à de nouveaux produits nous rend heureux et nous fait avancer et nous inspire.

Chez Home Society, nous pensons que les produits que les clients achètent régulièrement sont d’une grande valeur pour le détaillant. Par exemple, les bougies “s’usent” et les clients reviennent toujours pour plus.

Depuis plus de 21 ans, nous distribuons les bougies Bridgewater. Le succès constant est dû à la haute qualité et au renouvellement perpétuel de nouveaux parfums et gammes de produits. Les bougies Bridgewater ont instauré une solide clientèle.

En bref, nous avons appris que les bougies SE VENDENT ! En vendant nos bougies cylindriques Home Society pendant un certain nombre d’années et en raison de leur grand succès, nous avons développé l’année dernière les Petite Candles. Qui aurait pensé que ces Petite Candles deviendraient l’article préféré de nos détaillants et du consommateur final ! Quand on parle d’achats récurrents !

Pour ce printemps, nous annonçons des bougies de tailles différentes et avons ajouté des couleurs vives à notre collection de bougies Home Society. Trois nouvelles tailles pour les bougies cylindriques fines et en plus de belles torches en bambou et des bougies d’extérieur en verre pour l’été prochain.

En attendant, nous travaillons sur un nouveau concept de bougie Home Society passionnant pour AH 2020.

CHINOISERIE

Je herkent het gelijk, de opkomende trend in het interieur: Chinoiserie.

Het is de vertaling van Chinese-motieven, paviljoens, bloemen, prachtige vogels en natuur toegepast op textiel en meubels. Als je deze trend nog niet eerder in je interieur hebt gebruikt, voeg dan bijvoorbeeld een Chinoiserie muurprint een rattan lamp of bamboo print vloerkleed toe aan je interieur.

Vous la reconnaissez quand vous la voyez, la prochaine tendance du design d’intérieur : la Chinoiserie. C’est la transposition de motifs chinois, de pavillons, de fleurs, de beaux oiseaux et de motifs naturels appliqués sur les textiles et les meubles. Si vous n’avez jamais utilisé cette tendance dans votre intérieur, essayez d’ajouter une décoration murale chinoise, un tapis de sol en bambou ou une lampe en rotin à votre décoration d’intérieure.

Bladeren en goud zijn nog steeds een belangrijke trend voor 2020.

Er zijn zoveel manieren deze trend in je interieur te vertalen. Bladpatronen zijn er in inspirerende vormen en variaties. Sommige zijn stoer en vol, terwijl er in andere veel gedetailleerdere structuren te zien zijn. Bladpatronen met een gouden touch brengen ons onmiddellijk in tropische sferen.

Les feuilles et l’or sont toujours une tendance majeure pour 2020. Il existe de nombreuses façons d’intégrer les tendances à votre intérieur, car les feuilles se déclinent en de belles variations différentes. Certaines sont plus audacieuses et complètes, tandis que d’autres ont des caractéristiques beaucoup plus détaillées. Pour nous, les motifs de feuilles avec une finition dorée nous font immédiatement penser à la chaleur, au climat tropical.

Behind The Scenes Een beetje China in mijn huis. Mijn liefde voor China is absoluut gevoed door mijn prachtige Chinese dochter en het feit dat ik een aantal keren per jaar daar de mooiste collecties ga samenstellen, maar ook doordat een beetje Chinoiserie stijl al jaren als een rood draadje bij ons thuis te vinden is.

Chinoiserie is een Europese, Franse kunststroming uit de 18e eeuw, een stijl geïnspireerd op kunst en design uit China. Het woord Chinoiserie is een soortgelijke Franse vertaling van wat in het Engels kan worden aangeduid als “Chinees-achtig”. In het interieur denk je aan antieke kasten, bamboestoelen en prints van fantastische vogels, bloemen en paviljoens, of het mooie Delfts blauw, waarbij Aziatische motieven een grote inspiratie bron bleken om porselein te beschilderen.

Ik struin met enige regelmaat de kringloop af en vindt er soms de mooiste Chinoiserie schatten; een serie bordjes voor aan de muur, een oude blauw schaal, een gekke kandelaar. En geniet ervan als ze staan te shinen in mijn huis. Want deze trend gaat heel goed samen met een Scandinavisch interieur. Voor een beetje Chinoiserie in je huis kun je gemakkelijk een leuk hoekje stylen met wat Aziatische elementen. Denk bijvoorbeeld aan een hippe kraanvogel die ook nog eens wordt gezien als een gelukssymbool. De kraanvogel blijft net als de andere dierentrends trouwens nog wel een tijdje een populair element in het interieur.

Misschien ben je ook al toe aan een nieuw verfje op de muur want volgens het kleureninstituut Pantone wordt de kleur van het jaar 2020 Classic Blue, ik hoef je natuurlijk nu niet meer uit te leggen waarom dit zo’n tijdloze kleur is!

Un peu de la Chine dans ma maison. Mon amour pour la Chine est sans aucun doute nourri par ma belle fille chinoise et le fait que j’y compilerai les plus belles collections plusieurs fois par an, mais aussi parce qu’un brin de style Chinoiserie est le fil conducteur de notre maison depuis des années.

La Chinoiserie est un mouvement artistique européen et français du XVIIIe siècle, un style inspiré de l’art et du design chinois. Le mot Chinoiserie est un terme français qui signifie « à la chinoise ».

En intérieur, vous pensez aux armoires antiques, aux chaises en bambou et aux imprimés d’oiseaux fantastiques, fleurs et pavillons, ou le beau bleu de Delft, où les motifs asiatiques se sont avérés être une grande source d’inspiration pour la peinture sur porcelaine.

Je parcours régulièrement les brocantes et trouve parfois les plus beaux trésors, des Chinoiseries ; une série d’assiettes à accrocher au mur, un vieux bol bleu, un chandelier étrange. Et profitez-en quand ils brillent dans ma maison, parce que cette tendance se marie très bien avec un intérieur scandinave. Avec une touche de Chinoiserie dans votre maison, vous pouvez facilement créer un joli coin avec des éléments asiatiques. Par exemple, pensez à la tendance grue, qui est également considérée comme un symbole porte-bonheur. Tout comme les autres animaux tendances, la grue restera d’ailleurs pendant encore un certain temps un élément populaire en décoration d’intérieur.

Peut-être que vous êtes également prêt pour une nouvelle peinture sur le mur parce que selon l’institut des couleurs Pantone, Classic Blue sera la couleur de l’année 2020, bien sûr, je n’ai plus à expliquer pourquoi c’est une couleur si intemporelle !

Het is geen wonder dat we hier en daar wat rotan items in onze nieuwe collectie hebben opgenomen. Rotan heeft de laatste jaren een volledige comeback in ons interieur gemaakt. Vanwege het buigzame materiaal kan het worden gevormd en geweven in mooie vormen en patronen. Rotan brengt een element van warmte zonder de zwaarte van hout.

Il n’est pas étonnant que nous ayons incorporé quelques pièces en rotin dans notre nouvelle collection ici et là. Le rotin a fait un retour en force dans nos maisons au cours des deux dernières années. Grâce à sa souplesse, il peut être modelé et tissé en de jolis formes et motifs. Le rotin apporte un élément de châleur sans la lourdeur du bois.

Cette saison, nous sommes avec Aviva Schouten, propriétaire de Klik fashion cadeau & lifestyle à Grave.

Hardwerkende moeder Ik ben een alleenstaande moeder van 3 prachtige kinderen, 2 van mijn kinderen hebben het nest al verlaten, maar mijn jongste dochter van 16 woont nog gezellig thuis. Ik heb ook 2 koppige teckels. Ik hou van reizen, maar vanwege de winkel kom ik er niet echt aan toe. Thailand staat wel op mijn verlanglijstje.

Une mère travailleuse Je suis une mère célibataire de 3 beaux enfants ; 2 de mes enfants sont partis de la maison mais ma plus jeune fille de 16 ans y vit toujours. J’ai également 2 teckels têtus. J’aime voyager, mais à cause du magasin, je ne trouve plus le temps pour

cela. Toutefois, la Thaïlande figure sur ma liste d’envies.

Hoe het allemaal begon Nadat ik mijn school had afgerond aan de MTS in Schoonhoven, waar ik als goudsmid en graveur ben afgestudeerd, begon ik een goudsmid & sieradenwinkel in Grave. Na 7 jaar besloot ik dat het tijd was voor iets nieuws en begon ik mijn carrière in dezelfde branche maar als Sales Manager voor verschillende sieradenmerken.

Kriebel Maar na een paar jaar begon het weer te kriebelen en ik zag toevallig een heel leuk winkelpand in mijn geboortestad in Grave te huur staan. Dus ik zag mijn kans schoon en sprong in het diepe en begon opnieuw mijn eigen zaak. Wel nog in combinatie met mijn baan in een juwelierszaak. Na anderhalf jaar had ik meer tijd nodig voor mijn eigen winkel en besloot ik te stoppen met werken in de juwelierszaak. Ik nam mijn collega Marja in dienst en samen gingen we op volle kracht vooruit!

Comment tout a commencé Après avoir terminé mes études au MTS à Schoonhoven où j’ai obtenu un diplôme d’orfèvre et de graveur, j’ai monté un magasin d’orfèvrerie et de bijouterie à Grave.

7 ans plus tard, j’ai décidé que le moment était venu de faire quelque chose de nouveau ; j’ai alors démarré ma carrière dans le même secteur d’activité mais en tant que directrice commerciale pour plusieurs marques de bijoux.

Mes désirs Cependant quelques années plus tard, j’ai eu à nouveau d’autres désirs, et il se trouve que j’ai repéré un joli petit magasin disponible dans ma ville natale, à Grave. J’ai donc tenté ma chance et me suis lancée dans la paperasse pour l’acquérir. J’ai démarré à nouveau ma propre affaire que je combinais avec mon travail dans un magasin de bijoux. Au bout d’un an et demi, j’ai eu besoin de consacrer plus temps à mon

propre magasin et j’ai décidé de quitter mon travail à la bijouterie. J’ai embauché ma collègue Marja et ensemble, nous sommes parties à toute vitesse.

In de rij De winkel was een succes en steeds meer klanten vonden hun weg naar onze winkel. Ik herinner me dat onze klanten soms buiten in de rij moesten wachten!

Geweldige tijden kan ik je vertellen. Maar het pand werd te klein en het was tijd om onze horizon te verbreden en we gingen op zoek naar een nieuwe locatie. We vonden ons huidige pand , een voormalige bankgebouw in het centrum van de stad. We runnen de winkel samen met 3 collega’s met heel veel plezier.

Des moments impressionnants comme vous pouvez l’imaginer ! Alors il était temps d’élargir notre horizon et nous nous sommes mises à rechercher un nouvel endroit. Nous avons trouvé ce bâtiment, une ancienne banque dans le centre-ville. A présent, nous gérons le magasin avec 3 autres collègues et avec beaucoup d’enthousiasme.

Klein of groot gebaar Onze kracht is onze persoonlijke aanpak, waardoor iedereen in waarde, service en klantvriendelijkheid blijft. Ons motto: een geschenk gaat over het gebaar, niet over het bedrag. We verpakken een cadeau van 3 drie euro met dezelfde inzet en aandacht

als wij voor een cadeau van 50 euro. Het is hard werken in de industrie, het gaat met ups en downs. Maar u moet bezig blijven en afgestemd blijven op uw klant.

Omdat onze kracht een persoonlijke benadering en service is, geloven we niet in online verkoop, maar we houden ons aan ons eigen concept en verkopen vanuit “brick and morter”.

De beste tijd van het jaar is verreweg de kersttijd, de winkel straalt een aangename warme en kerstsfeer uit!

En matière de cadeau, c’est le geste qui compte Notre force réside dans notre approche personnelle, notre capacité à valoriser tout monde, notre bienveillance dans les services que nous offrons à nos clients.

Notre devise est la suivante : en matière de cadeau, c’est le geste qui compte et non le prix. Nous emballons un cadeau de 3 euros et un cadeau de 50 euros avec le même effort et la même attention. Il est difficile de travailler dans ce secteur ; il y a des hauts et des bas. Mais, on doit s’occuper et rester en phase avec les clients.

Etant donné que notre approche personnelle et notre service constituent notre force, nous ne nous fions pas aux ventes en ligne mais restons attachés à notre propre concept et vendons en magasin.

Le meilleur moment de l’année est de loin la période de Noël : le magasin déborde d’une atmosphère agréable, chaleureuse et saisonnière.

Instagrammable We zijn erg actief op sociale media en plaatsen elke dag een bericht. We showen zelf onze mode. We maken instagrammable foto’s van onze woonaccessoires, sieraden en schoenen, zodat mensen een glimp van onze winkel kunnen zien en het loont! We volgen alles op sociale media zodat we op de hoogte blijven van de nieuwste trends.

Visibilité sur Instagram Nous somme très actifs sur les réseaux sociaux : nous postons un message chaque jour. Nous montrons nous-mêmes nos produits. Nous publions des photos de nos accessoires d’intérieur, bijoux et chaussures sur Instagram de sorte que les gens puissent avoir un aperçu de notre magasin, et cela porte ses fruits !

EASTER ESSENTIALS

Dit jaar zijn wij helemaal weg van de glazen hangeitjes met gouden tekstjes en delicate veertjes en onze betonnen look haasjes met een golden touch om je een ultiem paasgevoel te geven. Omdat er maar een paar feestdagen per jaar zijn waarin je helemaal los kunt gaan met decoraties in je huis, zeggen wij “don’t hold back” en vier het in stijl. Heb je de kleine glazen clipvaasjes al gespot? Was het maar elke dag Pasen…

Knip de lont

Laat de eerste keer de kaars net zo lang branden totdat de gehele oppervlakte vloeibaar is. Houd de lont van de kaars mooi en kort geknipt ook bij de eerste keer dat de kaars brandt. De lont moet een halve centimeter kort zijn en het is belangrijk om elke keer als de kaars brand elke 4 uur de lont korter te knippen. Een lange lont kan splijten, afbreken en ervoor zorgen dat de wax vervuild raakt. Blaas altijd de kaars uit en laat de wax afkoelen en stollen voordat je de lont knipt.

Maak de wax vloeibaar

Zorg ervoor dat de bovenlaag van de wax elke keer gelijkmatig smelt, zodat de wax gaat poolen en geur goed kan vrijkomen.

Poolen betekend dat de wax helemaal tot aan de rand van het glas vloeibaar wordt en er geen wax aan het glas achter blijft. Zo voorkom je dat een kaars gaat tunnelen en de kaars naar beneden brand ,waardoor er wax aan de rand achterblijft en je wax verspilt.

Kaarsen in een glazen pot kun je het beste 4-6 uur achtereenvolgens laten branden voor het beste geurresultaat.

Houd het veilig

Plaats brandende kaarsen altijd op een vlak, stevig en warmtebestendig oppervlakte. Plaats kaarsen nooit op een brandbare ondergrond of in de buurt van brandbare materialen. Laat kaarsen nooit zonder toezicht branden. Plaats geen kaarsen in een luchtstroom of tocht. Brand kaarsen buiten het bereik van kinderen en huisdieren.

Laat een kaars nooit zonder toezicht branden. Gebruik de deksel van de kaars als onderzetter zodat de ondergrond niet te heet kan worden of beschadigen.

Weet wanneer je moet stoppen

Als er nog maar 1,5 centimeter wax over is op de bodem van de glazen pot, blaas dan de kaars uit. Het is normaal dat er een klein laagje wax overblijft, wanneer je de kaars onder dit niveau toch brand dan kan door de warmte van de glazen pot de ondergrond waar de kaars op staat beschadigen.

Couper la mèche

Gardez la mèche propre et bien coupée. Les mèches doivent être maintenues à une longueur appropriée (soit 0,5 cm) et doivent être coupées avant chaque utilisation, y compris la première. Les longues mèches peuvent fondre et laisser des débris dans la cire. Une mèche plus courte signifie une meilleure étendue de cire, et donc une meilleure combustion. Nous conseillons de couper la mèche toutes les 4 heures pwendant la combustion. Il faut toujours éteindre la flamme, laisser la bougie refroidir et couper la mèche avant de la rallumer.

Elargir l'étendue de cire

Chaque fois que vous brûlez votre bougie, laissez toute la couche supérieure se transformer en une étendue de liquide de cire parfumé jusqu'au verre et vous obtiendrez le meilleur parfum possible. Il est important de laisser l'étendue de cire atteindre le bord du récipient, car cela permet d'éviter des fissures de la bougie et le gaspillage de cire. Les bougies dans les pot ont généralement besoin de brûler pendant 4 à 6 heures d'affilée.

Stabilité & sécurité

Laissez toujours votre bougie allumée sur une surface plane, résistante à la chaleur et solide. Ne brûlez jamais votre bougie près d'un objet inflammable, évitez de l'exposer aux courants d'air et gardez-la hors de portée des enfants et des animaux. Ne la laissez jamais sans surveillance une fois allumée.

Servez-vous du couvercle du pot comme dessous de verre pour éviter que la surface devienne trop chaude ou qu'elle s'abîme.

Lorsqu'il reste environ 1,5 cm de cire au fond de votre bougie, le moment est venu de l'éteindre. C'est normal qu'il reste un peu de cire; les bougies sont fabriquées avec ce petit stock de cire. Lorsque les bougies sont brûlées au-dessous de ce niveau, le récipient peut devenir chaud et vous brûler, ou brûler la surface sur laquelle repose votre bougie.
