I hope everyone has had a spectacular month Fall is finally upon us and we are beginning to see more activity around the Club and Clubhouse I would like to take a moment to welcome our "Snow Birds" back to warm, sunny Florida We are genuinely looking forward to stepping back into the busy season here at Black Diamond Ranch

October 28th Practice Round on Quarry Course (Schedule your own Starting Time)

October 29th Round 1 / Highlands Course to Front 9 of Quarry (Two Best Balls of the Foursome)

October 30th Round 2 / Quarry Course (Best Ball of the Men + Best Ball of the Ladies)

The event will feature Gross & Net Winners, Multiple Flights, and all Formats will play at 100% Handicap

Men will play from the Light Grey Tees, while the Ladies will compete from the Silver Tees “Net Only” competitors may play from any tee The event food & beverage details are as follows:

Friday, October 28th Welcome Reception featuring appetizers and drinks

Saturday, October 29th Breakfast Buffet/ Dinner & Dancing

Sunday, October 30th Grab & Go Breakfast/Appetizers after Golf on the Veranda

DAVID COLLINS

The Member spotlight for the month of October is our very own, David Collins! David Collins has been a resident of Black Diamond since 2019 and is loving every minute of it When asked why he moved to Black Diamond Ranch, he mentioned “the friendly people, the beauty of the community, and the privacy.” When he is not selling real estate, he has many fun hobbies You will probably see him at Diamond Dunes or taking his kayaks to the many waterways on the Nature Coast. He is also a big Michigan fan He will always take a second to say “Go Blue!”

This upcoming fall golf season is going to look a little different than it has in the past. We will oversee the Ranch course beginning on September 27th Our target overseed areas are going to be the short grass and the greens During this process, we will close the ranch course to apply the seed, water, and fertilizer. Germination will take some time but we are hopeful that we can see some evidence within the week A lot of thought and discussion went into this decision and ultimately, we prefer that the golfing experience exceeds that which we had last golf season.

The best way we can improve this situation overall is by overseeding. Regular maintenance on the Quarry and the Highlands greens will continue in the fall season Vertical mowing, periodic venting, and light topdressing Towards the end of September as the turf begins to slow down our heights on the short grass will increase slightly to sustain the upcoming season

Since we made it to October we will begin to receive all of our new Fall merchandise We encourage you to stop by the Golf Shop and select from the latest in Men’s & Women’s golf apparel. These would include name brands such as Puma, Pete Millar, Kate Lord, Adidas, Travis Matthew, Foot Joy, and plenty more! We also have the new Callaway Rogue ST Max clubs in stock, as well as the complete XXIO Line of Men’s & Women’s distance clubs, for all those who are interested

The benefits of using these clubs are endless You WILL hit the ball higher and further with them, and we also have Demo sets available for you to take on the course! We will be conducting Demo Days soon with the club Fitters and Technicians here with all the flight monitors to get you properly fit with the proper clubs for your game We encourage all our members to stop by. We look forward to seeing all of you coming in to check out all the new apparel and golf clubs we have to offer!
