The Month of November kicks off our busy tournament season here at Black Diamond Ranch. We would like to give a warm welcome back to all our members that spent the summer at their northern clubs I also would like to take a moment to congratulate Linda Williams on securing her FIRST career hole in one on the 4th hole of the Quarry Course on October 8th! Mrs Williams used a pitching wedge from 87 yards to record her first ace Her playing partners were Lois Corsi, Pam Ford, and Diane Collick

We have a full schedule of fun events that I'm sure everyone will enjoy. The event sign ups are posted in the Golf Shop Lobby a month in advance If you have a question about any event or would like to sign up remotely, simply call the Golf Shop (352 746 3446) and it will be our pleasure to assist you!

Amy Meek

Amy Meek and her husband, Crystal River Mayor, Joe Meek, have been members at Black Diamond for 8 years They love the friendliness of the club and enjoy bringing their friends and extended family to the club Amy and Joe are active members of the community, along with their two teenage sons, Joe and Jackson Amy is a local Real Estate Broker Associate with their family owned Realty firm, Meek Real Estate She is committed to serving her clients and assisting them to achieve their goals She offers over 15 years of professional experience She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Business Marketing from the University of South Florida and is a graduate of Harvard University Executive Education Program Amy is passionate about her work and looks forward to the opportunity to get to know more members of the Black Diamond community

GOLF COURSE SUPERINTENDENT

November will bring several challenges throughout the golf course. Leaf control and general cleanup will be a necessity on a daily basis. While mowing and growth slow down, we need to be very conscientious about how we enter and exit the fairways too and from the cart paths Our turf in the rough and fairways have almost stopped growing and will not aggressively grow until the spring again Please deviate traffic as much as possible to keep the turf as healthy as possible

With the addition of our ryegrass on the Ranch, another item to be aware of is frost delays. A frost delay will take place after we scout the golf course in the morning and determine if it is necessary to keep play off of the turf Although November may be early to mention frost delays, I want frost to be on the members' minds as they will happen quickly
