Sugar House is located in a vibrant urban setting - a paradise for walkers and cyclists alike. Strategic connections including extra wide sidewalks/trails provide direct access to the neighboring park and public art plaza and the hip urban landscape of the neighborhood, while promoting a healthy lifestyle. Each living unit provides just what residents need: flexible kitchens, day/night spaces for living and sleeping, ensuite baths and ample well placed storage. Luxury amenity spaces bring residence together to create community.

Designed for socially conscious residents, a new way of working has emerged employing flexible spaces which merge work and living functions. Sugar House combines the two with active community hubs -a series of private and social spaces to spur interaction, accommodate creative collaboration, and become home for residents seeking a uniquely accessible and blurred live/ work environment. This flexible use of space allows more functionality in a smaller footprint creating less environmental impact than larger single use spaces. Additional sustainable elements included are ingrained throughout including LED lighting for energy efficiency, locally sourced low VOC materials for air quality, and electric vehicle parking with charging stations. Inspired by the neighborhood’s independence, strong art community, oneof-a-kind retail, food and beverage scene, and offbeat, progressive energy dating to the 1970’s, Sugar House was created to become a key member of the community. Murals and art were commissioned from neighborhood artists and space was incorporated for pop-up retail to showcase work of local vendors. We took full advantage of the sites high walkability score (93 out of 100), access to public transit, bike routes which allowed up to a 50% parking reduction from base code requirements. With the additional space, we included a bicycle lounge and storage.
