Mothers' Day Breakfast at the By Betsy Vernon
Cathedral Centre For many years, Adam & Betsy Vernon have organised a Mothering Sunday breakfast in the cathedral centre, for more years than they can remember! Unfortunately, Covid and lockdown curbed this and so it was delightful to reinstate this parish event; open to all ladies of the parish, held after the 9.15am Mass. The ladies are invited to a sit down breakfast - on a long set of tables decorated with white table clothes, flowered serviettes and spring flowers arranged on the tables. The gentlemen of the parish served teas and coffees as croissants, pain au chocolate and orange juice/apple juice were consumed by the invited ladies. About 40 place settings were laid up the night before.
Canon David and Eddy were fully involved; their first experience of this event. Thanks go to those gentlemen who helped serve.
