Bishop Loughlin Campus Ministry

Community Service At Loughlin
As Campus Minister, I would like to welcome you to Bishop Loughlin Memorial High School Your teenager has chosen to attend one of the finest high schools in the country. Bishop Loughlin will provide your teen with opportunities to be successful academically, socially, and spiritually, along with the support that every teen needs to deal with the many challenges that will arise throughout their high school years. I am proud to say that I work at Bishop Loughlin.
When current students and alumni are asked about their Loughlin experience, the most common word used is “family”. Today, I welcome you to our family. Here at 357 Clermont, we believe that family extends beyond our walls As such, we require every freshman to dedicate a minimum of ten hours of their own time to complete community service each year. Students are asked to find their own community service site. They may volunteer at their church, their elementary or junior high school, a local nursing home, a soup kitchen, or any other facility that needs volunteers. The minimum commitment of ten hours can be spread throughout the course of the year.
In September, each student will be given a community service form to be completed and returned to me. Service is an important part of who we are at Loughlin, and we look forward to sharing this experience with you and your teenager In the words of a true servant leader, Martin Luther King, Jr , “Everybody can be great…because anybody can serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.”
Once again, welcome to the Bishop Loughlin family! If you have any questions about our community service program, please feel free to call me at 718-857-2700 Ext. 2247. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Mike Foley Campus Minister

Enrollment Terms & Conditions
1. Enrollment Student will be enrolled for the academic year in Grade referenced above. Parent is aware that a final determination of grade/classroom placement will be made by the School in accordance with the School’s standard admissions or retention practices and that curriculum changes/decisions are made in the School’s discretion. This Contract is valid only for the academic year stated and does not entitle Student to any future enrollment.
2. Enrollment and Related Fees. Parent understands that to reserve a place for Student for the academic year, Parent must submit the original executed Contract along with the required deposit (as a registration fee) made payable to Bishop Loughlin Memorial High School at time of Registration. Parent understands that the registration fee is earned by the School upon Parent’s submission of the Contract and fees to the School and the School’s placement of the Student’s name in the School’s records for the academic year. PARENT FURTHER UNDERSTANDS THAT THE REGISTRATION FEE IS NOT REFUNDABLE OR TRANSFERABLE. Registration Fee = $550.00
3. Cancellation Option. Parent understands that this contract may be cancelled in writing, without penalty (except forfeiture of the registration fee) provided that written cancellation notification is received by the Director of Admissions on or before April 15, 2025.
4. School Rules Student’s enrollment at the School is subject to the general statements, rules, regulations, conditions, traditions, and financial terms contained in the School’s Student Handbook and other published documents, which may be amended from time to time. Parent agrees that Parent and Student must abide by such School rules and guidelines.
5. Termination of Student’s Attendance. The School has the right to suspend or terminate the attendance of any student for reasons set forth in the Student Handbook (or other published document), for reasons that the School administration considers detrimental to the School community, student, or to other students of the School, or for the Parent’s failure to pay all or any part of the Parent’s financial obligations for Student’s attendance (including any amounts charged on Student’s account with the School).
6. Transcripts/Records All accounts must be paid in full before records and transcripts can be released or transferred to other schools and colleges. Student will not be allowed to continue to attend classes and school activities or sit for examinations unless tuition and fees are paid by stated deadlines (or until Parent makes other written arrangements acceptable to the School).
7. School/Family Cooperation The School believes that a positive and constructive working relationship between the School and parent is essential to the fulfillment of the School’s educational purpose and responsibilities to its students. If the parent’s or other family member’s behavior, communications, or interactions on or off campus (including during school-sponsored events) is disruptive, intimidating, or overly aggressive, or reflects a loss of confidence or serious disagreement with the school’s policies, methods of instruction, or discipline, or otherwise seriously interferes with the School’s safety procedures, responsibilities, or accomplishment of its educational purpose or program, the School reserves the right to dismiss the family from the community. In addition, the School reserves the right to place restrictions on parents’ or other family members’ involvement or activity at school, on school property, or at school-related events if the parent or other family member engages in behavior or has a status (such as a criminal conviction) that would reasonably suggest that such restrictions may be appropriate for the community.
8. Acceptance Contingency This Contract is contingent upon Student’s successful completion of the current academic year, both academically and behaviorally, which shall be determined in the School’s sole discretion.
9. Force Majeure. The School’s duties and obligations under this Contract shall be suspended immediately without notice during all periods that the School is closed because of force majeure events including, but not limited to, any fire, act of God, weather disaster, war, governmental action, act of terrorism, epidemic, pandemic or any other event beyond the School’s control. If such an event occurs, the School’s duties and obligations in this Contract will be postponed until such time as the School, in its sole discretion, may safely reopen. In the event that the School cannot re-open due to an event under this clause, the School is under no obligation to refund any portion of the tuition paid.
10. Authority. Each party represents and warrants to the other (1) that it has full power to enter into and perform its obligations under this Contract; and (2) that this Contract constitutes its legal, valid, and binding obligation, enforceable in accordance with its terms. Dear Bishop Loughlin Memorial High School Families,
We are pleased to announce that Lessing’s Food Service Management will be returning this September, as your cafeteria food service provider. We have some exciting news! We have paid close attention to all your wants and needs regarding our cashless dinning software and have decided to switch our cashless dinning platform to better serve you.
We will be implementing the use of Mykidsspending as the primary portal for managing student profiles and monitoring account balances for cafeteria purchases, which will be linked to your student’s School ID Number.
Mykidsspending offers you the ability to:
1. Make deposits directly into your student’s account online
2. Set up the Account Auto replenishment feature, at your desired amount.
3. Apply daily purchase limits on your child’s account.
4. Have multiple parent accounts for one student.
Deposits and payments can be made through ACH (checking/savings) or Credit/Debit Card*. Each student’s account will be updated in real time, so account balance information will be current daily.
Please note, if you hold a current positive account balance, it will be transferred to your Mykidsspending balance once your new account is established.
You will be receiving a preregistration email from Mykidsspending directly with a link to access your new account. Please look out for this email sometime in August.
Note: A parent account can be linked to more than one child even if they attend different schools.
There is a ‘per transaction’ (deposit) convenience fee of $0.75 plus 1% at check out for Checking/Savings and 4.0% for credit/debit with a minimum charge of $3.00. These convenience fees are only associated with financial deposits and not necessarily purchases. We recommend depositing larger deposits via checking/savings ACH to reduce fees. Please note that we will be accepting student account payments in the cafeteria, in the form of cash or check if you would prefer to avoid all transaction fees.
We hope that this new platform will better serve you and we appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this time of change Should you have any questions or need further clarification, please do not hesitate to contact us.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How can I see spending information?
To view a list of purchases, please click the "Summary" button next to your child's name. This view will default to the current month, but you can change the starting and ending dates. Please note that deposits and charges made at the school and the latest account balance will be updated to the web overnight. Deposits made through MyKidsSpending will be factored into your viewable balance online immediately and should be factored into your child's balance at the school within about 5 minutes.
The balance next to my student’s name is in parentheses ($$.$$). Does this mean I have money on the account or that I owe money to the account?
If the balance next to your student's debit account is in parentheses, your student has made purchases that exceed the deposits you have made. This will appear as a negative on the account's Summary page. If the balance is not in parentheses, your student's account has funds available to use for purchases.
Can I set up automatic transfers?
Yes, you can set up automatic transfers from a checking account or change your settings through the "Setup Automatic Transfers" button. You will choose a threshold at which to start the funding process, such as $25, and an amount to be added. Please note that after that threshold is reached, or after autofunding is enabled, it will typically take two days to process the funding, in order to leave time for the transaction to be cancelled if needed. If you add funds manually after the initial notification is sent but before the automatic funding has been added to your student's account, it will cancel the pending funding until your student's balance drops to $25 (for example) again.
Can autofunding be turned on for some students on my account and oO for others?
Yes. If you have multiple student accounts attached to your login, you can click the "Toggle autofunding" link next to an individual student's name to turn autofunding on or oL for only that student.
How do I request a statement?
Click the "Statements" button above, then check the "Enable Statement Sending" option. The default statement threshold is $50, meaning that you will receive a statement when the account balance goes below $50. (You will also receive a statement in the event your student's account goes into the negative.)
Is there a minimum deposit?
There is a $25 minimum deposit amount.
Is there any charge to use the web deposits?
Yes, MyKidsSpending charges a convenience fee for deposits through our site. Since we are an external funding portal, this charge covers the cost of computers, software, network bandwidth and support costs for MyKidsSpending. There is a 4% convenience charge for all credit card
transactions, with a minimum charge of $3. We do oLer a discounted convenience fee if you set up the account to use an electronic check for each charge of 75 cents plus 1% of the total deposited. For example, for a deposit of $100, the charge would be $1.75. There is a $25 charge for any returned payment. By using the MyKidsSpending website, you are confirming that you understand and acknowledge there is a convenience fee of 4% charged to the cardholder when paying via credit card. You further acknowledge and understand that funding your child's account with an electronic check or ACH transfer incurs a discounted convenience fee of 75 cents and 1% of the total funded.
When are the funds available?
Deposits made through MyKidsSpending will typically be picked up in the school's system within about 5 minutes.
Who should I contact with questions?
If the question has to do with a deposit on the web or a balance question, please contact SUPPORT@MYKIDSSPENDING.COM or call MyKidsSpending support at (855) 302-0070 (if calling from the United States), or (617) 868-0060 (if calling internationally).
If you have a question regarding items purchased, please contact [Contact information]
How does the transaction appear on my credit card or bank statement?
The transaction will appear with the name MYKIDSSPENDING.COM or our parent company Odin.
How can I request a refund?
Within seven days of the deposit date, please contact SUPPORT@MYKIDSSPENDING.COM or (855) 302-0070 (if calling from the United States), or (617) 868-0060 (if calling internationally). If the deposit was made more than seven days ago or you would like to transfer funds between siblings, please contact Nicole Cestra, Ncestra@lessings.com.
Which payment methods do you accept?
MyKidsSpending accepts electronic check and credit card deposits. For credit card deposits, we accept MasterCard, Discover, Visa and American Express.
