WANDERINGS As we’ve all had to this past year, I’ve put my wanderlust on hold, instead travelling the world via books, blogs and social media. In the hours spent at my desk I’ve hopped from Romania to China via Russia and Eastern Africa, dipping into folk history, Baroque architecture and the Arts & Crafts movement along the way.

Ordinarily our collections are based on a single theme which stems from my travels. This season my influences have come from all over the world, jumping from one period to another and referencing a smattering of countries from across the globe. The inspiration for a stylised leaf print came from Arts & Crafts textiles and new embroideries for table linens and cushions were inspired

by Romanian folk art. Pleated velvet and blanket stitched details bring in a very English feel and scallop shaped edges are a nod to the enduring trend for all things wavy.

We have brought these ideas together to make a collection that authentically reflects the eclecticism of our homes. The mix of prints, colours and influences is designed to create a comfortable, lived-in look that instantly becomes part of the home story.

As ever our batches are small and special editions are limited. For the first time we have designed our own exclusive collection of furniture which has been made by local craftsmen here in Norfolk.

This capsule range was inspired by some of my favourite pieces of mid-century furniture and is stylish, unfussy and timeless. To bring the whole look together we have curated a new body of original artworks by emerging and established artists.

Bring the heart back into your home with our beautifully crafted soft furnishings, lighting solutions and accessories. The most soulful spaces have an authenticity that can be hard to achieve which is why we’ve designed Wanderings as an easy-to-style solution to bring personality into any interior.

Whether you’re starting a scheme completely from scratch or simply updating a sofa, all of our pieces have been created so that they can be picked and mixed. Every colour, print, fabric and embellishment has been designed or selected to sit in total harmony with its counterparts.

Recreate the Wanderings look at home by layering your favourite prints together with key textural pieces. Be generous with textiles; think throws, kanthas, rugs and embroideries, and then finish the look with well chosen lighting and characterful accessories.

DINING Gathering at a table with friends and family has always been special but now it has taken on a new significance.

We think of every shared table as a celebration and something to be prepared with care and creativity so we’ve created our range of tableware to make the process enjoyable and effortless.

We like to think of laying a table in the same way as painting a picture - your table is the canvas and every part of the setting is like a new layer of paint. The most effective tables have balanced structures that are styled and accessorised with abundance and flair.

Take inspiration from nature with our Leaf and Bel linens or layer up geometrics with embroidered Lemko placemats and napkins. Lay settings with hand-painted Leaf plates and bowls or give the look a rustic twist with our Limited Edition Romanian tableware and wooden cutlery. Add interest to plain glassware with Strie tumblers and Rimmed wine glasses.

For an evening table complete your styling with a mixture of candlesticks and vases at different heights. Combine seasonal blooms with foliage gathered from the garden in clusters of small arrangements along the length of the table. For a more dramatic look create a centrepiece in a statement vessel.

Another tip for cosiness is to add a table lamp to a work surface or island.

The diffused light cast by a fabric lampshade is so much softer than that emitted by harsh downlighting and instantly creates a feeling of warmth.

BEDROOM Bedrooms offer so much opportunity for uncompromised style and utter comfort. Bring the two together to create the ultimate haven for the colder months.

We believe that a bedroom is one of just a handful of spaces where more really is more, and this couldn’t be truer in the winter season. FURNITURE Wensum is our very first capsule furniture collection. Each piece has been designed by Birdie and made sustainably here in the Norfolk countryside by master craftsmen. The collection has an unfussy, mid-century feel that sits perfectly in traditional or modern interiors.

The unusual tapered table legs were inspired by a Danish birch pedestal table Birdie sourced in France and loved for its chic shape and contemporary look. The bones of this table have been reimagined and reinvented across the collection manifesting as an unusual tapered foot on a coffee table or a sleek leg on a dining chair.

LIMITED EDITION Our Limited Editions are the highest level of our collections.

Every piece has either been sourced personally by Birdie and is a completely unique one off, has been produced in a tiny run by an artisanal maker or has been made from an exceptional original textile in a limited quantity.

For Wanderings Birdie has sourced a handful of the most exceptional Turkish kilim rugs woven with stripes of strong colours that coordinate perfectly with the collection. Bespoke cushions made from Turkish silk Ikat are decoratively trimmed in jewel tones for a bold look on any chair, bed or sofa. Once again we have collaborated with the exceptional artisanal embroiderers represented

by She Kantha in India. The exquisite embroideries they have created have been transformed into a small range of beautiful silk cushions.
