BIRD CONSTRUCTION ACQUIRES NASON CONTRACTING GROUP LTD. On January 17 Bird completed its acquisition of Nason Contracting Group Ltd., a recognized leader in the construction of water and wastewater facilities in western Canada. As Bird’s second acquisition in less than two years (we acquired H.J. O’Connell, Limited in summer 2011), the completion of this transaction marks the continued growth of the company. Nason has the proven ability to quickly respond to client demands in the technologically advanced market in which it operates. As many of these facilities may be built in remote geographic areas, Nason’s ability to self-perform the majority of its work is a competitive advantage, which
often results in more favourable cost outcomes for their valued repeat clients. This has resulted in the successful completion of many water and wastewater facilities for numerous public and private clients. Coupling Nason’s strong abilities in the mechanical, electrical and instrumentation scopes of work with Bird’s civil construction and general contracting knowledge makes for a natural fit to grow both organization’s markets. With a mutual focus on client service and employee development by monitoring key values such as safety, quality, schedule and cost, the combined capabilities of Nason and Bird will further support the ongoing strategic expansion of Bird Construction.
