2013 All-American Angus Breeders' Futurity Rules & Regulations Nomination/Entry Fee - OPEN SHOW - Must be postmarked by May 15, 2012 Individual...................... $50

General Rules Any animal that is qualified to show under the standard classifications that are endorsed by the American Angus Association is eligible to enter the 2013 AII-American Futurity. Additionally, there will be classes for cows with calves, both embryo and natural. How to ENTER A. Complete one individual Entry Form or Cow/Calf Entry Form per animal or pair to be shown. B. Attach a photo copy of each animal's registration paper. C. Complete Group Entry Form if desired. D. Tally your entries and transfer the numbers to the Entry Form Transmittal Sheet. E. Write a check for all entry fees as totaled on the Registration form and mail it to the Futurity Office by May 3, 2013. Include all forms listed above. Check-in and health requirements A. Each and every animal entered must be registered with the American Angus Association. Registration certificates must be available, as they will be checked. B. Tattoos must be legible and correspond to animals' registration certificates or animals will be barred from the show. C. All animals coming into Kentucky must be accompanied by a CVI/Health Certificate using official identification. Origin A Brucellosis and TB Free States: For sale/exhibition, test not required; ID individually, permit number for sale animals only; permit required. Brucellosis: Missouri, Texas and California: Brucellosis test within 30 days or origin a Brucellosis Certified Free Herd. Non Vaccinates test eligibility 12 months of age; ID, with accreditation number and date of last herd test. Tuberculosis: Michigan: Origin an Accredited TB Free Herd: A complete accredited herd test must be conducted within 1 year prior to date of movement; Not from an Accredited TB Free Herd: Whole herd test conducted within 1 year; individual animal(s) tested within 60 days prior to entry, except the addition test is not required if animal(s) are moved interstate within 6 months following the whole herd test; animal not included in the whole herd test shall have a negative TB test within 60 days prior to entry. Texas: TB test within 60 days unless from an accredited herd; test eligibility 12 months of age. More information may be obtained by calling the Kentucky State Veterinarian, Frankfort, KY (502) 564-3956. D. Make sure your animals are free of both warts and ringworm. Cattle infected with warts, ringworm or any contagious, infectious, or communicable disease are not eligible for exhibition. E. All entries will be listed in the Official Program from youngest to oldest (by sex). After the cattle have been checked in on Friday, June 14, they will be divided into classes for the show. The classifications for the Junior Show will be posted on Friday afternoon, June 14, 2013, and the Open Show will be posted Saturday, June 15, 2013. F. Each exhibitor must wear a light colored, sleeved shirt tucked in along with dark pants while in the show ring. G. Futurity cattle may enter the barn beginning at 8:00 a.m., Thursday, June 13, 2013, and must be in place by 9:00 a.m. Friday, June 14, 2013. H. No cattle will be released until the conclusion of the show, but they must be removed by 6 p.m. Sunday, June 16, 2013. I. Straw, feed and tan bark will be available from Feeders Supply (502) 212-0433 ext.2209 with delivery daily. Cow/Calf Division A. A nomination fee of $100 is required by each cow/calf pair. B. Any age cow may compete. She must have a calf at side born after September 12, 2012. C. The classes will be divided into two championship brackets; one for cows with natural calves and one for embryo calves. The calf will have to type to the dam and must have a registration certificate to be eligible to show. A cow can only show in one bracket. D. These two Grand Champions will compete for Supreme Champion. E. Cows or calves are not eligible to show in the Get-of-Sire or Best Six Head. F. Calves nominated with their dams are automatically included as individual entries with no additional fee when born on or prior to March 31, 2013. G. Calves born April 1, 2013 or after, are not allowed to show in individual classes. Get-of Sire Nomination A. To nominate a sire’s progeny, on the enclosed form list the sire and registration number and indicate whether it is a Junior Get (three animals by one sire, both sexes represented, born after May 1, 2012); Senior Get (four animals by one sire, both sexes represented); or Calf Get (three animals by one sire, both sexes represented, born after September 1, 2012). A $50 nomination fee is required for each Get nominated. B. Animals in the Get competition must also be shown in their respective classes. BREEDERs Six Head The exhibitor of the breeders six head must be breeder and first owner, identified by the same member code for the animals exhibited. Cattle owned by other exhibitors

may be included, provided the exhibitor of the breeders six head is the breeder and first owner of the included animal(s). Animals must be exhibited in individual classes. Cattle bred and owned by a junior member(s) may be included if the exhibitor of the breeders six head is an individual or married couple and is the parent or legal guardian of the junior member(s). Other Group Classes Trophies are awarded to the winners of the following group classes: A. McCorkle Challenge Trophy—Presented to the best two head, both sexes represented. B. Produce of Dam Class—Awarded to the best two natural offspring from the same dam. C. Premier Breeder—Best six head bred and owned or co-owned by one exhibitor. D. Premier Exhibitor—The exhibitor whose owned or co-owned cattle accumulate the greatest number of points in individual and group classes and championship competition under the Futurity point system. E. Futurity Sire of the Year—The three progeny of one sire that accumulated the greatest number of points under the Futurity point system. F. Edward O. Elliott Award—Awarded to the Grand Champion Female. G. Three Generation Maternal Class—This competition will be for a group of three head consisting of the dam, her daughter, and the progeny of the daughter which may be either sex. Measurements Bulls will be weighed before entering the ring. The information will be available to both the spectators and judges. FITTING Any fitting rules established by the American Angus Association will be upheld by the Futurity Committee. Classification for the 2013 Futurity Entries in the Futurity are shown under the Futurity or open system of classification. All cattle entered will be listed in the program continuously by sex, youngest to oldest. After all cattle have been checked in, a committee will break them into classes with a minimum age spread. The championship bull classes will follow the Standard Classification and include: Junior Bull Calf; Senior Bull Calf; Intermediate Bull; Junior Bull; and Senior Bull Division Championships. The championship female classes will be as follows: Spring Heifer Calf (January 1, 2013 to March 31, 2013); Winter Heifer Calf (November 1, 2012 to December 31, 2012); Senior Heifer Calf (September 1, 2012 to October 31, 2012); Intermediate Heifer (May 1, 2012 to August 31, 2012); Late Junior Heifer (March 1, 2012 to April 30, 2012); Early Junior Heifer (January 1, 2012 to February 28, 2012); Senior Heifer (September 1, 2011 to December 31, 2011). SUBSTITUTIONS The show manager must approve all substitutions BEFORE check-in, 9:00 a.m. (EST), Friday, June 14, 2013. Substitutions can only be made within the same sex and the birth date must be within 60 days of the original entry. This applies only to the open show. Substitutions are not permitted for the Junior Show. Division of Prize Money The prize fund consists of the total amount of money paid on nominating and eligibility fees plus added appropriations and contributions less administrative costs. In 2012, the American Angus Association contributed $5,000 (Open and Junior Show). Judging The judge for the 2013 Futurity will be Travis Pembrook, Oklahoma. The judge for the 2013 Futurity Junior Show will be Kyle Gillooly, Georgia. Liability No entry is liable for more than the amount paid in, but there will be no refund of payments. The right is reserved to reject any entry and to debar any entry from competition for failure to comply with the rules of the Futurity. Any and all disputes will be settled by the Executive Committee, and its decision will be final. RULES FOR 20TH ANNUAL ALL-AMERICAN REGIONAL PREVIEW JUNIOR ANGUS SHOW In Conjunction with the 66th All-American Angus Breeders’ Futurity

SATURDAY, June 15, 2013 1. Exhibitor's birthdate must be from January 1, 1992 through December 31, 2003 and must be a Junior, Regular or Life Member of the American Angus Association. 2. Exhibitors may enter as many entries as they wish. Exhibitors may show up to four entries in the Owned Heifer Category. They may also show as many Bred-and-Owned bulls, heifers, and cow/calf pairs as they wish. If showing a female with a calf at side, the calf must be her natural calf and be registered. Exhibitors in the Bred-and-Owned Categories must be the breeder and the first and continuous owner of the animal entered. “Breeder” is defined as the recorded owner of the dam at the time of service. “First Owner” is defined as the recorded owner of the dam at the time the calf is born. The name and member code listed on the entry form as exhibitor must also be listed on the animal’s registration certificate as “Owner.” Joint ownerships are allowed on the bred-and-owned entries, provided the name and member code of the exhibitor is listed as “breeder” and “first owner” on the registration certificate. Applications for registration and transfer of ownership must be postmarked by May 15, 2013, for entries not bred-and-owned by the exhibitor, and by June 1, 2013 for bred-and-owned entries. 3. An entry fee of $25.00 per entry MUST accompany each entry. No refunds will be given after entry deadline. DO NOT SEND YOUR ORIGINAL REGISTRATION CERTIFICATE, AS YOU MUST HAVE IT WITH YOU WHEN YOU CHECK IN AT THE SHOW! Attach a photocopy of the registration certificate. ENTRY DEADLINE, May 15, 2013. 4. There will be classes for bred-and-owned bulls, bred-and-owned heifers, heifers owned but not bred by exhibitor, and cow/calf pairs. Champions

will be selected in each category. There will be no Overall Champion. 5. Entries will be listed in the catalog in order of age (youngest to oldest), and will be led into the showring in the order of catalog number. 6. Classes will be made up after cattle have been checked in at the show with no more than 12 head in any class. Most classes should have no more than a 30-day spread in age, and many may have only a few days spread. Classes will not be named, but should fall close to the Standard Classifications in age breakdown. 7. Division champions in the respective categories will be named. (i.e., calf, intermediate, late and early junior yearlings, and senior yearling). 8 . Show classifications for heifers: September 1, 2011, through March 31, 2013. 9. Show classifications for bulls: January 1, 2012, through March 31, 2013. 10. Any cow/calf pair may be exhibited provided the calf is bred-and-owned by the junior exhibitor and the following rules are met: a. Cow must be bred-and-owned or solely owned by the exhibitor. If the cow was not bred by the exhibitor, the issue date of the recorded transfer of the cow must precede the breeding date of the cow for the calf at side. b. Calf must be the cow’s most recent natural calf and must have been born on or after September 11, 2012. c. Calf must be registered at entry. Calves entered in the Cow/Calf category born on or prior to March 31, 2013 are not entered automatically. A $25 fee is required for entries in the heifer/bull Junior Show. d. There will be separate divisions for Bred-and-Owned and Owned Cow/Calf Pairs.

NOTICE: If you wish to show cattle in the open show of the Futurity, the animals must also be entered on official Futurity Open Show forms, and the entry fee for that show paid. HEALTH REQUIREMENTS: All animals coming into Kentucky must be accompanied by a CVI/Health Certificate using official identification. Premium money will be on a sliding scale, dictated by the number of head shown in each class. REMEMBER, bring your original registration certificates and be certain that all tattoos are correct and legible. If tattoos are incorrect or illegible, the animal will not be allowed to show! Cattle must be in place by no later than, Friday, June 15, 2012, at 9:00 a.m. Check-in will be at that time. Release time will be immediately upon completion of the Junior Show, Saturday, providing you do not wish to exhibit at the All-American Angus Breeders’ Futurity Open Show. AGREEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITY AND LIABILITY: It is clearly understood and agreed that the All-American Angus Breeders' Futurity and its officials, officers, directors, employees and agents (hereinafter collectively referred to as "All-American") shall not be responsible for any damage, loss or injury to any person or property which is caused directly or indirectly for any reason. The exhibitor, owner, their agents and/or representatives, (hereinafter collectively referred to as "Participants"), agree to indemnify and hold the All-American harmless for any damage, injury or loss suffered during, or in connection with, the All-American Angus Breeders' Futurity Open & Regional Preview Junior Angus Show. In the event the All-American Angus Breeders' Futurity Open & Regional Preview Junior Angus Show is subject to any expense or liability, including, but not limited to consultant fees, legal or court costs, the All-American Angus Breeders' Futurity Open & Regional Preview Junior Angus Show management labor and expenses, expenses and/or costs for blood, tissue, urine, hide and/or carcass sampling and testing incurred as a result of the All-American Angus Breeders' Futurity Open & Regional Preview Junior Angus Show rules and regulations violations and all agreements thereunder, including, but not limited to unethical fitting, filling, meat tampering, illegal or non-approved use of drugs, medication and/or prohibited substance(s) as a result of participants involvement in the All-American Angus Breeders' Futurity Open & Regional Preview Junior Angus Show, participant shall indemnify and hold harmless the All-American Angus Breeders' Futurity Open & Regional Preview Junior Angus Show for all damages, expenses or liabilities incurred as a result thereof. Participants may also be subject to criminal charges. The participant will have full control, custody, care and feeding of any animal(s)

and/or personal property, which are brought on or about the premises of the site of the All-American Angus Breeders' Futurity Open & Regional Preview Junior Angus Show site. It is clearly understood and agreed between the parties that, as a material condition to any participant entering or showing at the All-American Angus Breeders' Futurity Open & Regional Preview Junior Angus Show. The Association will at no time have control, custody or care of any animals(s) and/or personal property, which are brought on or about the All-American Angus Breeders' Futurity Open & Regional Preview Junior Angus Show site. For the overall working of the show, the participant will maintain control, custody, care and feeding for any and all animals and/or personal property in accordance with rules and regulations of the All-American Angus Breeders' Futurity Open & Regional Preview Junior Angus Show, and in no way will the All-American Angus Breeders' Futurity Open & Regional Preview Junior Angus Show be responsible for any loss or damage that may occur or be caused by any animal or personal property. By submitting an application for entry, participants agree to comply with all the rules and regulations governing the All-American Angus Breeders' Futurity Open & Regional Preview Junior Angus Show as published in the rules and governed under the All-American Angus Breeders' Futurity Open & Regional Preview Junior Angus Show rules. Further, these provisions include total ownership of the entry for the prescribed number of days, continuous possession and care and provisions against unethical fitting, filling, and/or alteration of conformation and color of animal(s), meat tampering and illegal or non-approved use of drugs, medication and/or prohibited substance.
