Nació en 1948, y estudió diseño textil en la Kolding School of Design entre 1968 y 1972. Fue maestra de medio tiempo en dicha institución educativa, así como diseñadora y directora de escena en el Teatro Møllen de Haderslev, Dinamarca, desde 1974. Born in 1948, she studied textile design at the Holding School of Design from 1968 to 1972. For four years she was a part-time teacher at the Kolding School, and has been a set designer and stage director at the Teatret Møllen in Haderslev, Denmark since 1974. As a poster artist, Gitte Kath has mainly made posters for the Teatret Møllen and the Paraplyteatret. In addition to designing theatrical posters, she has also produced posters for: Amnesty International, Dansk Kraftembalage, fdb 100-year Jubilee, Rosenberg slot, dsb, Øresundsregionens Poster Artist 1998, Paralympic – Sydney 2000, Verdens Bogdag 2000 and Icons on ikono.6. Zanders, Tyksland. She has won awards at the 1990 Graphics Biennial in Brno, Czeck Republic (of which she was president), at H.V. Clausens og Johan Ottenses legat (1994), at the Arbejdslegat Statens kunstfond (1996-2004) and at the Premieret af Statens kunstfond (2000). Her work has been exhibited at the International Poster Biennial in Warsaw, Polland, the Colorado International Invitational Poster Exhibition in the US, the Plakate International in Berlin, Germany (1988), the Graphic Design Biennial in Brno (1990, 1994, 1998, 2000 y 2002), the Lahti Poster Biennial, in Finland, the Moscow Poster Triennial, in Russia (1992), the exhibition held in Arnhem, Holland, marking the 30th anniversary of Amnesty International, the Festival d’Affiches in Chaumont, France, and the International Poster Biennial in Mexico.
