About Us
Do you remember, as a child, waiting all year for Christmas to arrive. It seemed as if it took 24 months to finally get here, but once it was here, it was always gone in a flash. I remember the allure of Santa Claus, trying to determine how he was able to make it down our chimney with all the different presents he left us. I wasn’t much for writing as a child, but you could guarantee that I took very seriously the assignment of writing my letter to Santa. I’d make notes to remember all the things I wanted, and I’d spend more time than I should have crafting the letter to Santa, making sure to plead my case for how good I’d been all year (even if there was a bit of truth stretching in there). Writing a letter to Santa is a tradition that has withstood the test of time. Despite changes to technology and the sophistication of the gifts children might want, it’s still important to write a letter to old St. Nick to let him know. This special edition of Enjoy Hoover is filled with handwritten letters from elementary students around Hoover. I want to thank each school principal and teacher who helped make this magazine possible. Our hope is that it brings many smiles to your face this holiday season. And don’t worry…after we received the letters, we forwarded them directly to the North Pole, in plenty of time for Santa to make sure he knows what to bring. Dear Santa, How are you? We are great! We have been so good this year. Have you seen our magazine, Enjoy Hoover? We have been busy writing stories, selling ads, and delivering copies of the magazine all over Hoover! We like to write about great places in Hoover to eat, shop, and play. You should come visit us in Hoover! We can do all the things...ride bike trails, go rock climbing, play golf, go hiking, check out all the great places to shop, and so much more. What kind of food do you like?
Italian? Mexican? Thai? Salads? Mediterranean? We have just about anything you could want! OK, so you probably want to know what’s on “the list” for us this year. Well, we just want to keep telling stories about all Hoover has to offer (and we always want to work with more Hoover businesses to help them advertise to our readers). Anyway, we’ll see you soon! Dear Santa!
Christmas is the best in Hoover! I go shopping with my mom and make gingerbread houses at
the library. And there’s a huge Christmas tree!! It’s the coolest! Mom says it’s right in front of where the mayor works. It’s the biggest tree I’ve ever seen! We love to get hot chocolate at our favorite ice cream shop. I’ll leave some out for you! Maybe you can come early so we can show you around! There’s so much to do and see! It’s true - the holidays are the happiest in Hoover!
