IB Visual Arts Exhibition
Visual Arts Exhibition
Af Lars Trige, billedkunstlærer
Over the past two years, the Visual Arts students have been working hard and enthusiastically in exploring the many expressions and art forms that make up the IB Visual Arts curriculum. Every year this focused work effort culminates in a large exhibition organized and hosted by the visual arts students themselves. Each year the students choose their own theme and curate their exhibition accordingly. This year’s exhibition showed the students’ wide range and excellent ability to engage with and explore the many nuances in artistic expression.
As always, the exhibition was well visited. Students from all over the school and teachers alike were captivated by the many exhibited works and participated in in-depth discussions with the artists about their work and inspiration.
Birkerød Gymnasium has offered IB Visual Arts for more than 20 years. In that time, the subject has evolved from a traditional arts subject to a full-scale arts course in which students investigate, explore and experiment with the full palette of traditional forms of expression as well as modern, digital media.
This year’s exhibition once again showcased the international dimension of Birkerød Gymnasium and stands as a strong contribution to the efforts in ensuring the access to and engagement with art for all students at BG.
