PACE Training
PACE is a six session programme for foster carers to explore the difficulties children have in developing relationships due to their early experiences of trauma, loss, separation and attachment difficulties.
The sessions will explore the following:
·Understanding the challenges of Parenting – Blocked relationships, Blocked Trust, fear of abandonment and fear of intersubjectivity.
·Shame, miscuing within relationships and hidden needs.
·DDP informed therapeutic parenting – building connections, being mind-minded, maintaining PACE.
·Supporting Behaviour – Difficulties with traditional parenting methods with children with developmental trauma, regulation based parenting with PACE and Connection with correction.
·Looking After yourself -understanding attachment histories, reflecting on early relationship experiences.
·Self care and Blocked Care.
