WHO ARE WE WHO ARE WE
At Beverley CRC, we are so much more than just a centre. For the past 27 years, we've been investing in the heart of our community, working in partnership with the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) to provide essential information and services to our local residents
Our vibrant team of five dedicated locals, supported by a passionate management committee, runs the centre. We offer a range of fee-based products and services, and we've been trusted by government bodies to serve as essential access points and information hubs for the community.
Our commitment to staying at the forefront of innovation shines through in everything we do. We believe in the power of friendliness, honesty, openness, and authenticity, and it's these values that make our products, services, and customer relationships stand out. Our goal is to not just meet but exceed expectations, ensuring that every individual we serve feels a true sense of belonging and value
Dedicated to enhancing community wellbeing, our committee and staff consistently implement innovative strategies to bolster economic and social prosperity. Through a diverse range of offerings, including events, workshops, seminars, and traineeships, we aim to create a thriving environment for everyone in our community.
One shining example of this commitment is the Beverley Community Garden group, established in 2019 as a sub-committee of Beverley CRC. This flourishing green space provides locals with organically grown produce and a welcoming environment for connecting and volunteering, while also serving as a beautiful venue for our centre to host workshops and school holiday activities. It's just one of the many ways we continue to grow and nurture our beloved community

OUR MAIN FOCUS AREA OUR MAIN FOCUS AREA
SCIENCE BASED LEARNING
SCIENCE BASED LEARNING
With no STEAM program in the Beverley District High School curriculum our centre secured funding to be able to provide this learning opportunity, during the school term. Open to all junior residents of Beverley, once a month for ages 6 and over.
Due to popularity, we held school holiday STEAM activities for a small fee per child
We invuted a local retired science teacher into the program, providing more in-depth knowledge, experience and experiments.
STAYING IN PLACE INITIATIVE STAYING IN PLACE INITIATIVE
We have nearly 40% of our population aged over 70 years old. Our community have expressed how they would like to remain living in their own home in Beverley, as long as possible. If they had the services, they required to support them, they would feel confident remaining at home.
The implementation of a program for those seniors receives the appropriate care, and we have suitable local workforce to fulfil the support workers required and upskill if necessary The success of the project, means we will improve the economic development of our town, employing local residents, building skillsets whilst improving the lives of our seniors.
CONTRACTED SERVICES CONTRACTED SERVICES
We have improved recording processes to provide a better representation of time and staff resources. More accurate statistics to report to stakeholders & funding bodies. Contracts for a fee for service with a staff members trained to deliver the service confidently.
Ensure staff and volunteers have been trained to record statistics, so we can report statistics to our funding partners.
Our new contracted services include Roe Tourism and InCasa Country, upgraded from an access point to an agent for Services Australia

CHAIRMANS REPORT CHAIRMANS REPORT
John Maxwell John Maxwell
At the last AGM I was elected as the Chairman of the management committee, taking over from Glenys Lane who performed this role for 15 years. Leaving the role with an efficient well run organised CRC. Within the first few months I attended 2 DIPRD Conferences one for chairman and the other for staff and committee, both of which gave me an insight into my role as chairman.
Through out the year our organisation has many events some of which I assisted with or attended. The Beverley Triathlon was a great success with many entrants and lots of willing helpers to make the event happen. There was the well-received SOCK Week, the Golden Groove Night and the Beverley Story Walk, to name but a few.
Our staff continue to perform at high standards easily meeting the Departments deadlines and procedures. This year we went from an access point to an agent for Centre link. We picked up the work from Roe Tourism for promotional activities, financial record keeping and admin support. Roe Tourism’s committee is more than impressed with the performance of both Alyssa and Sam. Following a request from the Beverley LHAG to look at a Staying Place Project for the older community, Amor and the staff agreed to take on this project, seeing the benefits it would provide to our elder community. Following a lot of work in organising community information sessions and preparation this project is taking off We now have 12 clients receiving services that wasn’t readily available in Beverley. There are now 7 workers employed by this project, with many more people awaiting assessment to join the program

Before I deal with the financial matters related to the Beverley Community Resource Centre, I would like to reflect for a moment on the passing of our former Chairman and stalwart, Mrs Glenys Lane during the year. Glenys was one of the ‘Three Musketeers’ who worked so hard to rescue the Telecentre prior to it becoming a CRC. Along with Mrs. Dee Ridgway and Mr. John Fregon she put in many hours to ensure Beverley was able to retain a viable community group so important today. Working with Glenys was my privilege and Glenys always ensured we maintained the highest of standards. Nothing was ever just good enough.
Reflecting of the past financial year, the CRC has maintained its sound financial position notwithstanding that we made some decisions that might have been regarded as risky. We don’t apologise for this because it is the aim of the Committee to embrace opportunities which can provide improved services to the community while increasing the Income and enabling employment of more staff. Those decisions did have an impact.
From a financial perspective, we have concluded another satisfactory year. While we recorded a small loss of $21,430 this needs to be measured against a projected Budget loss of $25,000 An improvement of $3,570. Our Nett Assets totalled $110,071 of which our cash balance totalled $143,750. It has been established with our Auditors that the audited financial statements are finalised for the Annual General Meeting each year and we do not anticipate any change to this.

What an incredible year it has been! It has been a whirlwind of workshops, events, and initiatives, filled with moments of pride as we witness the positive impact we are making in our local community. We have embraced the opportunity to collaborate on these efforts, and our shared vision has been vital to our achievements.
I want to extend my gratitude to the management committee for their unwavering support throughout another successful year at the centre This was our first year without Glenys leading us, which presented its challenges, and her absence was felt by everyone I also want to congratulate John on his first year as Chairman; we truly appreciate your commitment to understanding the operations and funding models of the CRC
Kudos to Beth and the team at the Beverley Community Garden! They are running smoothly and sustainably, creating a wonderful green space for everyone to enjoy. Our team has successfully implemented the school holiday program there, and the kids have had a fantastic time at the garden.
We have successfully achieved our focus areas for the year, which included: promoting science-based learning for our junior residents in the absence of a STEAM program at our local school, launching the Staying in Place Program, and enhancing our contracted services. Our community-based programs are thriving, although we still face challenges with local businesses. My fantastic team have delivered so many events and workshops, some major highlights of the year:
Winning the DPIRD regional traineeship program award,
Growing the Staying in Place program to help our senior residents remain in their homes as long as possible, The Mable workforce supporting the Staying in Place program,
Securing the Roe Tourism contract for a Marketing Officer and Executive Assistant Officer, The successful return of the Beverley Triathlon, and Becoming Centrelink Agents.
VISITOR CENTRE
Our Visitor Centre volunteer program continues under the leadership of Dee and Samantha, with volunteers taking a break during the warmer months. We have observed a decrease in visitors over the past year.
LIBRARY
Alyssa has excelled in her role at the library, significantly enhancing her grant writing skills, which has led to substantial improvements in service delivery and literacy programs Three key highlights of the library this year include:
Children’s author and science writer Cristy Burne conducting six STEAM workshops at the local school and at the CRC, resulting in a highly successful collaboration.
The Beverley Story Walk, an initiative involving 30 residents reading children's books, which we filmed and placed QR code signage around for easy access to the videos. The official opening attracted 130 attendees, including four classes from our local school.
The STEAM Club, 22 members, exploring various scientific topics from robotics to volcano creation.
REGIONAL TRAINEESHIP PROGRAM
We were thrilled to have won the DPIRD Regional Traineeship Program award this year, marking a significant accomplishment The program remains strong in our town and we are pleased to have current trainee Allison on our team; her dedication to her course is commendable, and she is enjoying her return to work and involvement in the community, loving her experience in Beverley I am also happy to share that our previous trainee, Angela, successfully completed her traineeship and has secured a full time position at REED Brookton.
Finally, thank you to our members, staff, and management committee; your support and dedication to our small community's CRC is truly commendable.

At Beverley Community Resource Centre, we are thrilled to offer our valued community the opportunity to participate in the regional traineeship program, funded by the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development This program serves as a vital steppingstone, providing trainees with essential workplace experience, qualifications, and the confidence needed to embark on their career journeys
We take pride in our trainees' success, which has led to local businesses recognising their potential and offering employment opportunities even before they complete their studies with us. Recently, our dedicated team was honoured with an award at the DPIRD conference for their outstanding commitment to the Regional Traineeship Program.
Our trainees engage in a structured program that includes dedicated study time alongside fulfilling workplace responsibilities such as front counter service, LEGO club supervision, newsletter compilation, billing, printing, event support, training assistance, secretarial duties, and reporting to the management committee.
The positive feedback we receive from our community, local businesses, and employers underscores the importance of this initiative in our regional setting By educating, training, and retaining talented local individuals, we not only enhance our community but also create avenues for these trainees that were previously out of reach.
Looking ahead, we are committed to continuing to offer traineeships in Beverley, with a focus on broadening the range of certificates available for our participants. In a recent funding application, we tailored a program for Marketing and Communication, currently being pursued by Allison Abra through a Certificate IV course.
