KIMBERLY CARNOT Immediate Past President

Kimberly Carnot and her wife, Traci Carpenter, joined Beth Israel in 2010 after relocating from Alaska in 2007. An attorney, she has negotiated business contracts and advised senior leadership across most of the San Diego higher education institutions (UC San Diego, University of San Diego, San Diego State University) over the past 15 years. She currently serves as Senior Legal Counsel at Sharp HealthCare. In addition to expertise in transactions, her portfolio includes extensive experience in construction, real estate, facilities management along with organization planning, operational efficiency and change management. Kimberly also served on the board of directors for Hillel of San Diego and is a former board member of Jewish Family Service.

A native of Maryland, Kimberly received her Bachelors from Washington University in Saint Louis, and her Juris Doctorate and Masters of Studies in Environmental Law from Vermont Law School. She is licensed to practice law in California, Maryland and Alaska. Kimberly and Traci, along with their children, Emma and Harley, who attend Beth’s Israel’s Religious School, live in Del Mar. Kimberly is a 4th generation member of Beth Israel.

On May 18th, Beth Israel held its Annual Meeting of the Congregation. The event featured several highlights, including a warm welcome and blessing, insightful remarks from President Dan Jones, Treasurer John Lefter, and Senior Rabbi Jason Nevarez. The meeting also recognized retiring Board members and conducted elections for the Board and Nominating Committee. Additionally, the Volunteer of the Year Award was presented to JOHN LEFTER, JANET PERLMAN, and LORI SHEARER, acknowledging their outstanding contributions.
