• Rabbi Nevarez performed a Bris ceremony on March 19, 2023 on Arik Victor Cohen who was born on March 11, 2023. His proud parents are our congregants Alexis and Sabrina Cohen. Arik’s grandparents are Jaim Victor Cohen, Sara Wertman, Leonardo Martinez and Alicia Fernandez.

• Joseph Rumi Savarese was born on May 12, 2023. His proud parents are a David and Maya Savarese of Vista, CA. Joseph’s grandmother is congregant Randy Savarese.

Emma Stein

Emma Belle Stein is the daughter of Josh and Laura Stein and granddaughter of Madeline and Ken Wolf and Mary Caffery and Marty Stein, and sister to Jessie Stein. Emma attends Francis Parker School. She is a competitive gymnast, enjoys both indoor and beach volleyball, and plays the drums. For her Mitzvah Project Emma supported local food banks and promoted youth literacy through her book drive.

• Emily and Chris Jennewein on the marriage of Madeleine Jennewein to Kelsey Thomas “…our daughter Maddy Jennewein married Kelsey Thomas in our backyard on April 2, 2023, under a chuppah they quilted themselves, and with 100 friends and family in attendance. Rabbi Cantor Arlene Bernstein performed the wedding 16 years after she officiated at Maddy's bat mitzvah at Congregation Beth Israel in San Diego. On both occasions, Rabbi Cantor Arlene wore a tallit that Maddy created for her.“
