ADULT & YOUTH CHOIR

Join our Zimriyah Chorale (Adult choir) led by the Rabbi/ Cantor Arlene Bernstein and our new conductor, Aaron Humbel and our Youth/Teen Choirs led by Rabbi Jeremy Gimbel and Andy Mayer. No matter your age or musical background, our choirs offer a welcoming community where you can connect, communicate, and find healing through the joy of music. From the enchanting Zimriyah Chorale, performing at special services and events, to the Youth Choir for Grades 2-6, and the Teen Choir for talented teenagers, there's a place for everyone to share their musical gifts. Rehearsals are held on Wednesday evenings for adults and Sundays after religious school, with lunch provided, for Youth Choir members. Helene Schlafman, known affectionately as Eemah (mom), started the Madrichim program 52 years ago at Beth Israel. Thousands of students have passed through the Madrichim program over the past five decades and have gone on to become Rabbis, lay leaders, and active participants in their own congregational communities, bringing with them all of the ruach and passion they developed as Madrichim.
