Jordan Alvarez Jordan Alvarez
Jordan Alvarez is the proud daughter of Jennifer Alvarez and Granddaughter of Idale Anderson
Jordan has navigated a multifaceted journey defined by a commitment to healthcare, academic excellence, and community service. From an early age, Jordan demonstrated a passion for helping others, volunteering over 150 hours in various capacities, including greeting guests at Texas Health Hughley, playing with kids receiving dialysis at Cook Children's, and reading books to young children at the Fort Worth Library. These experiences have been pivotal in shaping their aspirations and character.
During high school, Jordan was actively involved in HOSA – Future Health Professionals, and opted for dual credit college classes instead of traditional AP classes and tests. This strategic choice allowed them to gain a significant academic advantage, culminating in the achievement of an associate's degree in science upon graduation. Despite not participating in sports for the last four years, Jordan's dedication to their studies and volunteer work set her apart
Professionally, Jordan gained invaluable experience as a pharmacy technician at CVS This role not only helped them save money for college but also provided practical insights into the healthcare field, further fueling their ambition to make a difference With a keen interest in self-management skills, communication, and teamwork, Jordan excelled in their position, contributing to the pharmacy's success and learning from an experienced team
Jordan's academic journey has been marked by impressive achievements and challenges Their dream school, the University of Oklahoma, posed financial hurdles despite acceptance Scholarships from Louisiana State University and the University of Missouri were substantial, yet the financial gap remained a concern. Undeterred, Jordan continued to explore opportunities, demonstrating resilience and adaptability. Jordan's intended major is chemical bioscience, with a goal of attending medical school and becoming a family physician. Recently, they have pivoted towards a specific interest in geriatric nursing, aspiring to become a geriatric nurse practitioner. This shift underscores their evolving understanding of healthcare needs and a deep-seated commitment to serving an aging population
Balancing academic pursuits with work experience and volunteerism, Jordan Alvarez's journey is a testament to dedication, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to making a positive impact in the world of healthcare
Jordan's favorite scriptures are Josua 1:9 “ Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you” and Job 22:28 “You will succeed in whatever you choose to do, and light will shine on the road ahead of you”
