Sisterhood November is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and that makes it an appropriate time for Sisterhood and synagogue members to participate in a very special docent led tour of a compelling exhibit at the Illinois Holocaust Museum. On Sunday afternoon, November 13th, we will tour the special exhibit entitled “Women Hold Up Half the Sky” in conjunction with the Sisterhood book club read of Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide. Please note it isn’t necessary to have read the book to join us. See flyer for details- noting RSVP’s are due November 1st.

There are many opportunities to get involved and support local Domestic Violence programs and learn about the services provided by organizations like WINGS and Shalva. Shalva will be the recipient of our Tzedakah donation in the Spring. We collect Tzedakah at all our meetings.

If you or someone you know needs our help, call 773-583-4673. Help domestic abuse victims by donating your old cell phones. Each phone raises money for domestic abuse crisis-counseling services in the Jewish community!
