BGYB is delighted to present our Charter Companion for 2025, offering a comprehensive overview of the charter market and our expanding fleet. As we reflect on the past season and look ahead to new opportunities, this companion provides valuable insights into the evolving trends and dynamics shaping the world of luxury yachting.

The 2024 charter season was marked by continued growth in the number of charter contracts signed. Despite an uncertain economic climate, BGYB successfully adapted to market conditions, achieving an exceptional 55% increase in charter contracts compared to 2023!

This impressive growth was fuelled by the addition of new yachts to our fleet and new direct clients, turning into repeat clients. The trend toward last-minute bookings also persisted, underscoring the importance of agility and responsiveness in our operations.

Looking ahead to 2025, we anticipate further expansion in the market. Clients are increasingly seeking larger yachts with enhanced onboard amenities and eco-conscious options. One notable success story is the Sunreef Eco APOLLO 99, which joined our fleet in 2024 and operated a fully booked calendar throughout the year in Greece. Additionally, our visit to the Sunreef shipyard in Poland provided a sneak preview of the new Sunreef Power 100, demonstrating our commitment to staying at the forefront of innovation in the industry.

The BGYB fleet grew significantly in 2024, with a total of eight new yachts joining us, reaching a new record: 30 yachts in the charter fleet. Among these new yachts, our now largest motor yacht, SOPHIE BLUE, the Swan 105 RS SELENA as well as the impressive 212ft 3 mast schooner ATLANTIC whom we also recently sold in-house. These yachts bring unique characteristics and cater to a wide range of client preferences, further enhancing the diversity and appeal of our fleet. ATLANTIC will now set sail for a world tour offering new unexplored destinations that we invite you to discover in this catalog. Our marketing strategies also evolved to meet the needs of an ever-changing market. In 2024, we embraced

familiarising trips such as hosting brokers aboard Lagoon 77 MANE ET NOCTE in the Seychelles, leading a day sail aboard Alegria 67 SEMPER FIDELIS in Antigua as well as recently participating in a familiarisation trip to Costa Rica aboard the iconic 99m motor yacht CHRISTINA O. These trips allow brokers to step into clients’ shoes allowing us to promote and experience an insight into the charter experiences these yachts provide. We further showcased our fleet at prominent industry events, including the San Remo MYBA Charter Show, the Palma Superyacht Show, MEDYS, Dubai Boat Show, and the Antigua Charter Show, providing opportunities to engage with other brokers, meet potential clients, and present the unique qualities of our yachts. Internally, we tested a new CRM system to improve client management and efficiency and participated in AI training to enhance our marketing materials and client communications. These efforts reflect our dedication to growth and continuous improvement in our systems.

As we move into 2025, we are excited to build on this momentum, further expand our fleet, and embrace new trends in sustainable yachting and client engagement. This catalogue highlights the world’s most stunning charter destinations, and showcases a carefully curated selection of motor and sailing yachts. Whether for family, friends, regattas or corporate events, our fleet offers exceptional luxury and service. Additionally, our Yacht Charter Management services ensure seamless experiences tailored to create lasting memories under the BGYB slogan: “Yachting in Style with Peace of Mind”

We hope this Charter Companion inspires you to discover the unique opportunities offered by our fleet and the remarkable experiences that await on board. The BGYB Team

Charter Guide

Creating the perfect charter

Who is the charter for?

Charters come in all shapes and sizes. Whether it is for a personal or corporate event, decide the number of guests that will be on board and the required number of cabins. We will then complete a search based on this criteria and provide a curated selection.

Where and when to go?

Decide on the date and the desired environment, and we will match it to the optimal conditions in the best areas for that season.

Note that the rental period – whether it is for a night, a week or more – will have a direct influence on the price. For shortterm charters, the cost per night is higher than for long-term charters, which can benefit from discounts. The destination will also impact the price, as popular destinations often charge higher rates due to greater demand.

Motor or Sailing?

Yachts can be classified into three broad categories, each offering a unique experience whether it’s for adventure or relaxation:

• Motor Yachts: Tend to have a higher price tag due to their speed and sophisticated amenities.

• Sailing Yachts: Less expensive option and ideal for those seeking a traditional sailing vacation.

• Catamarans: More spacious and stable, being ideal for groups or families for ease of use.

Which activities to do?

If it is for long trips on shore discovering new places, cruising around undiscovered islands and covers or scuba diving deep below the water’s surface, the activities on board a yacht are limitless. Whether seeking thrill or relaxation, each guest can find activities to suit their personal preferences.

On board preferences?

The luxurious atmosphere on board is crucial. As such, the entire charter is tailor-made for our clients. From entertainment and music, to choice of food, all aspects on board are catered for. The crew will ensure that all dishes and drinks on board are the guest’s personal favourites, preparing them according to their exact details. If wishing to dine onshore, reservations will be made well in advance with transfers included, so that not a single person will need to lift the slightest finger.

Charter Guide

Step 2

Planning your charter with your Charter Broker

It is true that certain things in life require careful consideration: a charter is one of those things. It merits extensive planning ahead, so that each part is fine tuned to perfection.

The time of the season and destination can have a significant impact on available options. It is thus advisable to book several months in advance to best organise an unforgettable vacation.

However, the client is not alone in their search. Indeed, the BGYB charter team will be with them to guide and respect their wishes, putting in a maximum of effort into bringing their dream charter to life.

Step 3

Finalising your charter

As Mediterranean Yacht Brokers Association (MYBA) members, the BGYB charter team works under the following terms and conditions: The charter fee includes the charter of the yacht with its crew, fully equipped and fully insured. The Charterer will be charged for all supplementary expenses such as fuel, berthing costs and harbours, food and beverages, and any other special services that you may request.

In order to cover these costs we will require an advanced provisioning allowance (APA) which is 30% - 45% of the charter fee. This gives the yacht captain the ability to purchase in advance all provisions for the charter, allowing him to ensure that all is prepared before the guests’ arrival.

At the end of the charter (or during, if requested), the captain will produce a full account of expenses. Upon review, the charterer will either be refunded the remaining balance, or, if the APA was exceeded, will be asked to settle the outstanding amount.

Day 1 I Peninsula de Papagayo

Located conveniently near Liberia International Airport, the Papagayo is the perfect spot to meet your crew and embark on your luxury holiday. This peninsula is bordered by Huevos and Culebra bays, both celebrated for their picturesque white-sand beaches and lush green forests. Isolated islands in the area create an ideal anchorage for private picnics and exploration of world-class beaches.

Day 2 I Flamingo Bay

Flamingo Bay, on the tip of the Nicoya Peninsula, includes several protected beaches known for their high-quality white sand and water. With several exciting water activities available, a hidden gem of the area is delivered via scuba diving in the nearby Catalina Islands which feature a spectacular variety of marine life. Playa Tamarindo is known for its vibrant surfer’s village and gentle waves for beginners hopping up on their first surfboard.

Day 3 I Playa Conchal

Playa Conchal, and its neighbouring Playa Zapotal are amazing bays with the perfect peaceful conditions for several exhilarating

water activities. Calm enough for swimming and snorkeling, Playa Conchal can also offer jet skiing, kayaking and possible humpback whale sightings depending on the season. In the evening, take a visit to Ostional National Wildlife Refuge to witness the thousands of nesting turtles.

Day 4 I Isla Tortuga

An overnight cruise will lead your yacht to Isla Tortuga, considered the most scenic anchorage on the Central Pacific Coast of Costa Rica. With some of the tallest palm trees you will ever see, the area is heavily protected by towering cliffs and therefore perfect for snorkelling, paddleboarding and swimming. For adventure seekers, Isla Tortuga offers many activities including ziplining and canopy tours.

Day 5 I Isla del Caño

A marine reserve, Cano Island is home to one of the largest healthy coral formations on the Pacific Coast, as well as an extensive range of aquatic species like sea turtles, sharks and rays. Due to weather conditions, you can often see rare dolphin megapods from Cano Island and arrange to snorkel with spinner or bottlenose

dolphins if you are feeling adventurous. The coastline is filled with hidden coves and beaches, perfect for private relaxation.

Day 6 I Drake Bay

Drake Bay, a UNESCO Site, is an unmissable visit on a charter in Costa Rica as one of the most biodiverse destinations on the planet. Featuring secluded beaches, extraordinary views and a gateway to Corcovado National Park, Drake Bay also has a rich history, its namesake being Francis Drake who discovered the area in 1579. The park offers 13 major ecosystems and countless exotic species over 41 000 hectares of land.

Day 7 I Quepos

Your final day onboard can be spent with a relaxing breakfast prepared by your chef before exploring Quepos and heading towards the airport. As a premier fishing destination, expect to find Sailfish, Tuna, Blue Marlin and Mahi Mahi in abundance if you have the patience for fishing. For more lively activities, visit the fun beach bars and meet welcoming locals in the area or pick up unique souvenirs from Costa Rican boutiques.

Suggested Itinerary

Discover raw beauty like nowhere else...

Between snow-capped mountains and glacial fjords, Patagonia offers paradise for a true adventurer with plenty of landscapes to explore. Beyond jaw-dropping views, Patagonia is home to unique vegetation and a diverse range of mammals that gather in this destination like no other.

When to go: The best time to go is from November to March

At BGYB we offer our clients bespoke itineraries for their charter holidays. Please contact us to receive your very own personalised charter itinerary.

Day 1 I Puerto Natales

Beginning your charter in Puerto Natales, capital of the Ultima Esperanza province, you will have the opportunity to explore this thriving town featuring boutique beer sellers and a plethora of tourists on their way to the Torres de Paine National Park. Described as ‘one of the most spectacular sights’, the park is home to native llamas (Guanaco) and beautiful azure-blue lakes, perfect for a day of kayaking.

Day 2 I Puerto Profundo

Cruising towards Puerto Profundo, you will sail through the heart of Alacafules National Park, renown for its many uninhabited islands full of obscure native wildlife. Originally occupied by the Alacalufes Indian Tribe, some of whom can still be found living there today, the area provides great anchorage in the case of unfavourable weather during your charter. Feel free to kayak ashore and discover the wild flora and fauna in action.

Day 3 I Isla Carlos III

Located in the Magellan Strait, Carlos III Island resides near the Francisco Coloane Maritime Park, a protected coastal area for scientific

research. From the decks of your yacht, you may be able to spot the colony of humpback whales who return annually between December and April. One of the most unforgettable experiences in Patagonia, you could kayak through magical fjords, listening to the songs of whales and exploring historic lighthouses ashore.

Day 4 I Seno Almirantazgo

Almirantazgo Sound, or Seno Almirantazgo in Spanish, is a relative maze of breath-taking Chilean fjords, which you can take in comfortably from your luxury yacht. With expert knowledge onboard, hiking across glaciers and trekking along several rivers, only accessible on foot, is possible. The isolated lakes offer Patagonian trout to those who wish to make use of the weather-protected waters, or exciting fly-fishing for some fun!.

Day 5 I Caleto Gomez

Marking the entrance to ‘glacier alley’ Caleta Gomez is located towards the southern side of the Alberto de Agostini National Park, which features an unusual coastline studded by fjords. This inlet flaunts imposing glaciers which spill down wonderfully straight into the sea. A

helicopter sightseeing tour would be fantastic in this region in order for guests to take in the magnificent views from above.

Day 6 I Seno Pia

Travelling into the heart of the Darwin Mountains, you will come across Seno Pia; a Y-shaped inlet bordered by striking granite cliffs and sharp snowy peaks. With several anchorage points, a yacht charter can offer the chance to jump ashore and hike up to some magnificent vantage points for panoramic views and stunning photography opportunities. For a more peaceful experience, you may prefer a solo kayak through the spectacular silence.

Day 7 I Puerto Williams

A trip to Patagonia incomplete without a visit to Puerto Williams, the southernmost city in the world, you will disembark from your yacht here. Before heading home, it is essential to get a taste of their famous fresh king crab, caught daily from the freezing waters of the Beagle Channel nearby. If you interested in any further exploration, there are many hiking trails nearby, known for their gruelling nature but unmissable views.

ATLANTIC

The current ATLANTIC is the replica of legendary ATLANTIC which was commissioned by New York Yacht Club member Wilson Marshall, Atlantic and which was launched in 1903. The project was certainly his most ambitious; with her length over deck of 185 feet (56 metres) she is the largest classic racing schooner ever to be recreated. Ed Kastelein was determined for her to be the way she was when she made history in 1905, her original lines were honoured to the finest detail and her sail plan is identical to that of her victorious 1905 Transatlantic Race which made her immortal in yachting history. Above all, she is once again breathtakingly beautiful, turning heads wherever the wind takes her.

Atlantic’s dimensions are simply incredible; over deck she measures a remarkable 56 meters. Her graceful sheer line and long overhangs accentuate her grace while her waterline length of 42 meters and narrow beam are a promise of unmatched speed under sail. Her spars tower some 45 meters above the waterline and support a staggering area of 1,750 m² of sail, more than two and a half times that of the already awesome J-Class yachts.
