Nick Zuk was known as a fighter on and off the football field. He died in June after a battle with leukemia and his “Redcoats” family is making sure No. 53 lives on. “We’re a tight-knit community, we come together when needed,” said Mitch Maslowski, a senior captain of the football team. Zuk would have also been a senior at Berlin High School this year. A plaque in his honor will be dedicated at a home game on Friday, Sept. 16 at 6:30 p.m. at Scalise Field, Sage Park.

“He dedicated so much time to football,” said Jack Hamel, another senior captain.
The first responders attended the school’s annual tribute to the heroes of Sept. 11, 2001. Students were shown a video in the auditorium, followed by a “peace walk” down to the high school track.
