Beating the heat during the summer can be a challenge, especially when you’re on a budget. The solution might just be Summer Fun in Belton, TX. With four-story slides, a lazy river, and a giant pool for an affordable price, this water park gives families the biggest bang for their buck.
“[Summer Fun] is small enough where you can let your kids run around and not worry, but big enough that they're not disinterested after 10 minutes,” said park owner, Daniel Manzella.
The park was originally the site of Riverside Swimming Pool, one of the first public pools in Central Texas in the 1940s. Thirty years ago a new owner turned the pool into the water park that is today.
Along with slides and a lazy river that circulates around half of the park, there’s also a kiddie area where younger children can paddle and play in a shallow area of the large main pool. Summer Fun also has a full concession stand, a sand volleyball court, a half basketball court, and covered seating for close to 800 people.
Not only can you rent out party rooms for birthdays and special events, but you can also rent out the whole facility for an affordable price.
“We have birthday party rooms, cabanas, and standard pavilions. So lots of different options to choose from,” Manzella said. “And we can do group rates on tickets.”
The park is open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Sundays from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
“We’ve been family owned and operated for 25 years,” Manzella said. “We’re safe, we’re clean, and we’re extremely affordable. So come out and swim. It’s going to be hot and sunny from here on out.”

Maurice (16), Maurshayla (14), and Maurticia (12) are a close-knit group of siblings who depend on each other in unique and independent ways.
