Safewall® is set to redefine how rainscreen systems are specified and procured.
Creating a rainscreen façade specification can be both complex and time-consuming.
A typical rainscreen system comprises many separate components. Assessing the safety, performance, and compatibility of these components can be a complex and challenging endeavour.
It’s no wonder that developing a rainscreen specification requires many hours of work, over several weeks, to obtain, assimilate and review test reports, certificates and performance data - from a variety of different sources.
And, even when this has been done, procuring separate components from a fragmented supply chain and combining them into a coherent system, brings its own challenges.
That’s why we developed Safewall® .

Safewall® is leading the way on UK Agrément certification for rainscreen systems.
When we set out to create Safewall® , we worked closely with our longstanding supply chain partners to select the best components, ensuring high standards of safety and performance.
We also considered compatibility between individual system elements and how each component contributes to the overall durability, performance and safety of the system. Safewall® is backed by one of the strongest overall portfolios of testing and certification in the UK façades industry.
Each Safewall® design option is either A1 or A2 fire-rated, and therefore approved for use on buildings of any height.
In addition to fire testing, we worked closely with leading independent test houses to assess Safewall®’s strength and stability, wind loading, thermal efficiency, resistance to moisture and durability.
This rigorous testing has been independentlyassessed by KIWA, making Safewall® an Agrément certified ‘outer through wall’ rainscreen system.
Three Safewall® system variants – the Swisspearl, Rockpanel and Luxe Clad design options – have all achieved - ‘outer through wall’ Agrément certification – comprising key components from the sheathing board to the external finish. We believe this is a first for UK rainscreen systems.
We are working diligently to certify additional design variants of Safewall®, further enhancing the range design options – all based on the same underlying system.
We also have a growing portfolio of load-bearing (BS 476, EN 1364-1) and non load-bearing (BS 476, EN 1365-1) fire tests on LGSF, showing up to 120 minutes performance. This allows specifiers to go even further and create ‘holistic’ throughwall specifications from the outer façade panels right back to the inner plaster boards.
At Benx, we are constantly seeking ways to reduce our environmental impact. Our commitment to sustainability is underpinned by ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 certifications.
Adopting these standards, we have implemented comprehensive energy and environmental management systems to monitor and reduce our carbon footprint.
We have installed low energy lighting, motion sensors, and EV charging points. And our solar
PV installation provides the necessary electricity for our fabrication facility, including CNCs, panel saws and state-of-the-art coating lines.
Where possible, we look to use renewable and recyclable materials. Working with our longstanding supply chain partners, we are committed to reducing the embodied carbon of our systems. We are in the process of creating EPDs for our products and systems. We have even introduced a ‘freepost’ recycling scheme for our samples.
At our in-house fabrication facility, we use sophisticated software to optimise cutting
patterns to ensure we minimise waste when supplying bespoke product.
Because we can supply all of the necessary components for your façade projects, we are able to significantly reduce the number of shipments, thereby minimising the delivery carbon footprint
And, since Safewall® facade systems are mechanically-fixed, they can be repaired or replaced at the end of their useful life.
Safewall® systems are suitable for LGSF construction and steel infill walling, and can be used for both new build and recladding projects in any geographic location in the UK.
Safewall® is highly durable, with minimal maintenance requirements and has a certified service life durability equivalent to that of the building.
Safewall®’s versatility means it can be deployed in both off site and traditional site-based construction processes.
Because we have designed and tested Safewall® using high quality components, sourced from our extensive supply chain, you can be sure it will perform as expected.
We also offer our 15-year Safewall® system guarantee - giving you peace of mind that your rainscreen system will stand the test of time.
By supplying all of the component parts of Safewall®, we help remove the complexity and inefficiency of procuring from multiple suppliers. This means one account manager, one ordering process, and fewer deliveries, saving both time and money.
By including interchangeable sheathing boards, insulation and membranes, you can be sure that we have alternative supply sources of these key components should that ever become necessary.
Our CAD take-off and optimisation process, ensures you buy only the panels and sheathing boards you need.
Using our in-house fabrication capabilities, we can cut, profile and pre-drill sheathing boards and facade panels to your specific requirements, helping to reduce site labour, waste and accidents.
For our off site construction customers we can process and schedule your orders so that you receive components in the desired sequence and batches.
Our installation and maintenance guides help to ensure that your teams have the documentation they need for a successful installation. In addition, our Approved Installer training gives facade contractors the expertise and know-how they need to bring your stunning designs to life.
And if you encounter any problems on site, our project support specialists are available to help.
Safewall® offers an extensive array of design possibilities. The available façades range from contemporary solid aluminium and cementitious panels, to textured compressed rock finishes.
Because Safewall® consists of a standard set of components, different façade finishes can easily be combined, allowing you to easily create stunning complementary or contrasting effects. Installation of combination façades is also more cost-effective than combining discrete rainscreen systems.
Our product development team is constantly evaluating and testing new façade finish options, which will see the continuing expansion of the Safewall® range. Our goal is for Safewall® to offer the most extensive portfolio of tested and certified rainscreen design options – all based on a common platform.
So, whether your design needs to slot seamlessly into an existing architectural landscape, or is a bold architectural statement, Safewall® provides the design toolbox.
