WOMEN MINISTRY CONFERENCE THEME: REFRESH, RECONNECT AND REFLECT The ladies in Ministry have had a great urge to get time together to be refreshed, connect with each other, network and reflect on their collective past, present and future. This is what led to a women in ministry conference. early in the month of August 2016

WHY THE CONFERENCE? As women in ministry, we have been busy serving others and we tend to forget ourselves. We give to ministry, home, family and society. We struggle with balancing, using our gifts and talents.

We are ministers of the gospel; we need to disciple and build movements, where do the children fit? How do we prioritize? How do we still continue with our ministry while raising our families?

So you are single and you are in full time ministry.

†he whole experience was graced by our lady leaders in the region was great. out of their busy schedules they did come to connect with us.

I got to spend some one on one time with one of them and she encouraged me a lot as she shared more about her life. We shared on some challenges we face and the fact that she offered to be praying for and with me touched my heart.

Secondly, the sessions were definitely a plus, hearing about how those who have more experience deal with issues in a practical way helped a lot. One of my key takeaways was on the matter of refreshing and how Mrs. Adadevo encouraged us to take resting seriously as we do ministry was timely.

Getting time to refresh and do individual reflection were beneficial to me and I left the retreat in a much better state.

All in all I'd say all my expectations to Refresh, Reflect and Reconnect were met and I would be glad to attend another ladies' retreat in the future

Are you less of a servant just because you are not married?

But the reality is people,

circumstances and even ministry realities can make you feel less than those who are married.

How do you keep swimming when the ocean seems to be accommodating only the married?

These are some of the question the young women are struggling with.

The purpose for the conference was for women to come together, to be refreshed as they connect with each other and reflect on God, get inspired to continue pursuing their God given purpose in ministry.

It was an opportunity to launch our book as women, written by us. God has taken each one of us through a unique journey of trusting him through the different seasons of our lives. The book shares our stories as ladies. Our desire is that this book will be a blessing to many ladies not only in Kenya, but even the region.

This conference helped address some of these challenges women are going through. The women shared their experience as they learnt from each other (Titus 2:3-5).

CHRISTABEL It all started on We first met at the office after our usual prayer meeting. We were all so eager to hear and learn from our speaker and that was demonstrated by the silence in the room as she took us through the first session. The first session was about the need to refresh and how to do that.

I really enjoyed it and some of the lessons I learnt were the need to take care of ourselves e.g. from the way we dress, and also the need to read the word and pray even when we feel dry and also the need to stay connected to the world outside. The point that most ministers of the gospel are not well versed with current affairs was interesting and that if we learn about what is happening in the world we will know how to pray. We were also taught about the need to take care of our personal lives e.g our finances. I liked the sessions and the speakers methods of teaching .

I learnt an important lesson on reflecting. We were taught by Mrs Farai. We were also given questions which were to help us reflect on what we were learning from the books.
