This is one of the best and challenging mission we ever attended. Pokot is a diverse land. The natives there are not educated and grazing cattle and goats is their only source of livelihood. Majority of young girls at the age of 13 get mar-

stations since they had an assurance of food.

By Gods grace we had a chance to carry missionary Medics and Vets.

Women, children and the aged walked long distances to come for medicine. The men were so full of joy to have their animals treated.

This gave us a chance to share the love of Christ to them as we interacted with them. A major hindrance was the language barrier since even the interpreters had only the basic education and could not understand or commu-

camps, we had other amazing programs like vocational bible prize giving for school kids, a camp for all the high school from the region, Peace meetings with the elders and Morans.

I had great joy seeing people receiving Christ. Surely the harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. The testimonies they gave clearly showed how God had changed their lives and they were now new beings. The old had gone and the new had come.

Treat the Flock, heal a heart

Pokot men have so much attachment with their livestock; which is their only source of livelihood. It was incredibly amazing to realize that, as much as the medical camp was such a noble idea, it wasn’t for men. The medical camp only attracted the women, children and the aged. However, the Men were not left alone. We had organized a Veterinary camp for their livestock. As the animals were being treated, you could see their faces lighting with gratitude. This offered a great window of opportunity to share with the with especially the Morans ( Men) which before seemed to be like such an uphill task

Majority of us having came from Nairobi, the only shower they know of is a hot shower. well, to our shock, water is gold in the region. One of the most Challenging things in Pokot being a dry land, is water. All across the vast land, hence there are no dams or water catchments.

During these rainy seasons, the women get to the dry rivers and dig wells. After some time the water gather and they are able to get water for domestic use. Water in Pokot is the most priced product.
