5K RUN SERIES
On your mark, get ready, and sign up for our next 5K Fun Run – the Beat the Sun Run! Happening on Thursday, September 2, 7 p.m.! Pre-registration costs $15 for runners age 6 and up, and $10 for children 5 and under. Day of registration prices increase by $5. When registering, you will be prompted to choose a time-slot (first-come, first-served). Each time-slot will hold 25 participants, and they run every three minutes. The annual Oktoberfest 10K Cross Country Challenge (with a 5K Family Fun Run and a Volksmarch) will be held Saturday, October 16, 9 a.m. This challenging 10K course winds deeply into the wooded hills around Uchee Creek. Register starting August 1 for both races at active.com or Smith Fitness Center.
5K
Early registration (until noon Oct 15) $10, day of registration $20 (free 5K t-shirt for the first 100 participants, no t-shirt guarantee after the first 100 participants. FREE entry to Oktoberfest on race day, hold onto your bib and show at entrance and you will receive free entry).
10K
Early registration (until noon Oct 15): $30, day of registration: $40 (free 10K t-shirt for the first 150 participants plus coupon for a FREE bratwurst, no t-shirt guarantee after the first 150 participants. FREE entry to Oktoberfest on race day, hold onto your bib and show at entrance and you will receive free entry).
T-shirt sizes guaranteed only if you sign up before noon on Sept 27th. You will not be guaranteed your shirt size if registering after noon on Sept 27th. Volksmarch starts after 5K, no registration required (no awards or t-shirts for finisher). If you missed a run, you can enjoy the Turkey Trot 5K on Friday, November 19 at 6:30 a.m.
AQUATICS/POOLS
We have indoor pools available for lap and recreational swim throughout the fall and winter seasons. Our pools offer a number of classes and programs including adult and youth swim lessons, lifeguard training and CPR, first aid and AED certifications. We offer a 2-year lifeguard certification, which includes the American Red Cross Certification, lifeguarding, first aid, CPR and AED, for MWR patrons 15 and older. American Red Cross lifeguarding students must be at least 15 years old by the last day of class, and pass a pre-course swimming skills test prior to taking our course. Once students are enrolled, they’ll receive the latest science-based training from experienced instructors, and develop skills they’ll use for a lifetime. Call 706-545-1400 for more information.

ARMY 10-MILER Participate with your Army Family across the world in the virtual Army 10-Miler taking place October 10 through 25! Beginning and ending at Doughboy Stadium, Fort Benning will be setting up the route for runners to participate.
