Fort Benning Annual Oktoberfest

Oktoberfest, Fort Benning’s favorite fall tradition, returns to Uchee Creek Friday October 15 – Sunday, October 17. Put on your dancing shoes and enjoy traditional German music (including Sonnenschein Express, the MCoE Band and NEW this year – the Queen of Oktoberfest – Manuela Horn), authentic German food and brews, games for all ages, pumpkin patch, pontoon boat rides, hayrides, carnival rides (Ferris wheel, tea cups, merry-go-round), a cross country 5K and 10K, and a Volksmarch.

Admission and parking are free! Three days of fun for the whole family, Oktoberfest is pet friendly and open to the public! Civilians do not need to acquire a visitor’s pass for this event if using Highway 165 to enter Uchee Creek.

This event includes the annual Oktoberfest 10K Cross Country Challenge with a 5K Family Fun Run and a Volksmarch. This challenging 10K course winds deeply into the wooded hills around Uchee Creek. Early registration for the 5K is $10, and $30 for 10K, register at Smith Fitness Center or active.com. Registration on site on race day starts at 7 a.m. and will be $20/$40, the race starts at 9 a.m.

Shuttle service will be available from 11 a.m. – 10:30 p.m. to and from Oktoberfest on post, Saturday only. Pets are not permitted on the shuttle.

Oktoberfest vendors accept only tokens for the purchase of food. Tokens, $1 each, are available September 20 - October 15 at Building 85 on Barron Avenue, Outdoor Recreation on Gillespie Street, Tickets & Travel inside the Commissary and at Uchee Creek, or you can purchase them at the event. Unused tokens can be redeemed for full value at the event or at MWR HQ on Barron Avenue, Building 85 starting October 18 from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m., Monday-Friday.
