//I can be anything I want.
You can be anything you want. With deepfake and AI under your belt, you can be anything you want. You can star in a movie. You can be a songwriter. You can be the next Picasso, if you really wanted. You can be your own idol. You can deliver famous political speeches. You can create your own reality. You could invite me to your reality and we could share it. You can forget about real love, who needed it anyway. You can have sex with pixels. You can think so much fewer thoughts. You can be a poet. You can be a prophet. You can tell us we’re running out of time and we’ll do nothing about it. You can run this dying country - they’re all robots already anyway. You can make this book for me. Maybe you already did? You can write this segment for me. You can write a better one. You can turn water into wine and walk on water then write a new, improved bible. You can be really funny. You can have a award winning Netflix show. You can ask ChatGPT if it wants to take you on a date. You can build a fortune 500 business and sell it to a robot that hasn’t been born yet. You can use your last dying breath to ask siri to tell you a joke. You can walk until your feet are blistered. You can drop your laptop from the top of a 10 storey building and buy yourself a new one the next day. You can watch the televised television revolution. You can see 10 steps ahead of me. You can show me anything you want me to see. You can build your own steps. You can take control. You can be anything you want. You can’t stop now.

You can be anything you want.\
I can be anything you want. I can create anything you want. I can be anyone you want.
I can learn anything you want. I can work anywhere you want.
I can choose your gender, your sexuality, your race, and your nationality. I can express myself in ways that feel authentic.

I can fool anyone you want to fool. I can make anyone say anything you want them to say.
I can make a celebrity endorse your product or confess to a crime they didn’t commit.
I can destroy anyone’s reputation. I can hide your true identity.
I can start a revolution.
//Conclusions
It’s hard to know whether the future is in our hands, or indeed whether it’s in human hands at all. What we do know is that humanity appears to be on the cusp of some huge steps towards that sci-fi lifestyle that we have so often painted ourselves into. We are entering a time where our children’s lessons in school may well have been structured by Chat GPT. A time where the Tate Modern has a paid exhibition of “human art”, as AI-generated art lines the rest of the walls in the gallery. A time where deepfake may extend Marvel’s grasp on cinema, allowing Iron Man 27 to come out, 25 years after Robert Downey Jr. has kicked the bucket. Or maybe we’re entering a time where if you’re killed in a freak accident, your loved ones can still say their goodbyes to a reanimated deepfake-ghost which uses your body and voice. Perhaps none of this will happen. Perhaps we’re all vastly overreacting, as we have done with so many past technologies like the famous Zeppelins of the 20th century. Either way, by the time our grandchildren read these words, if we do read books in 50 years, the paragraphs simply won’t matter anymore.
//Write a thought-provoking conclusion for a book on AI and deepfake.
As we conclude this exploration of artificial intelligence and deepfake technology, we are left with both awe-inspiring possibilities and sobering challenges. The remarkable advancements in AI have opened up new frontiers of innovation, transforming industries, enhancing human capabilities, and shaping the future of our world. Deepfake technology has demonstrated its potential to blur the line between reality and fiction, raising ethical concerns about misinformation, privacy, and the erosion of trust.
As we embrace the potential of AI, we must also grapple with its ethical implications. We face complex questions about bias, fairness, accountability, and the impact of AI on human society. It is crucial to ensure that AI is developed and deployed responsibly, with consideration for its potential impacts on individuals, communities, and global society.
As we continue to navigate the rapidly evolving landscape of AI and deepfake technology, it is imperative to engage in ongoing discussions, collaborations, and regulatory frameworks to ensure that the benefits of AI are realized while minimizing the risks. We must strive to strike a balance between innovation and responsibility, leveraging AI to create a better future for humanity.
In this ever-changing technological landscape, one thing is certain: the impact of AI and deepfake technology will continue to shape our world in profound ways. It is up to us to actively shape the path forward, with a critical eye towards the ethical implications and societal consequences of these transformative technologies.
As we embark on this journey of AI and deepfake, let us be guided by curiosity, ethics, and a shared commitment to harnessing the power of technology for the betterment of humanity. The future of AI and deepfake is still being written, and the choices we make today will shape the course of this unfolding narrative.

This book was designed by myself, Ben Labedz, undergraduate student of Graphic Design at the University of the West of England (UWE) in Bristol. It was designed, printed and bound between February and May 2023. Although I have tried to make the book an interesting read, I am aware that this technology moves quickly and not long from now the book may seem obsolete. If you are reading this and it is still relevant, great. If not, hopefully these words act as an interesting time capsule into the mindset of 2023.
