Medicare does not cross state lines. Please review the services that you are receiving in your home state to what you will receive in the state of South Carolina. We do have resources for you to purchase insurance.

If my student has a medical emergency on campus, who should they contact?

RA/CLC/Student Health/Campus Police 803-253-5499 during working hours or After Hours RA/CLC/Campus Police 803-253-5400.

My student requires continuation of ADA Accessibility Services (ADD/ADHD, Depression, Reading Disability), does the 504/IEP from high school transfer?

If the information is within a year of applying. Must have a Student Health Form on file.

Benedict College does not provide insurance to students or student-athletes.

If my student must go to the area hospital, will a BC staff member escort them?

We do not go along with the student but provide contact information and we do follow up. Every situation is handled differently.
