Legacy Gift

GRADUATING CLASS PARENT

Legacy Gift

The Eighth Grade Legacy Campaign is a tradition that provides a meaningful way for eighth grade families to honor their time at Belmont Day. During the years, many eighth grade families have chosen to make a legacy gift to share their appreciation for the unparalleled education and experience their children received at Belmont Day. This gift also provides an opportunity for our eighth graders to learn about the importance of philanthropy and giving back.

To share a bit of recent history, 29 families in the Class of 2020 raised $128,332 comprehensively, supporting professional development through the BDS Grade 8 Parent Fund for Excellence in Teaching. Other Eighth Grade Legacy Gifts have supported the Claflin field scoreboard, financial aid, and an HVAC system for the Kiva.

The goal for the families of the Class of 2021 was $200,000, and parents of the Class of 2021 made an impactful decision to support the unforeseen COVID-19 expenses incurred by the school. Their contributions supported the COVID-19 Relief Campaign of the annual fund—specifically the technology investment made to support all students for both onsite and offsite learning. We are very grateful for the $222,954 the Class of 2021 contributed to the school’s financial strength and for supporting excellence at Belmont Day. A special thanks to Catalina Guillermety P ’21 ’25 for her leadership as chair of the campaign.
