The Power of the Annual Fund

BDS Giving Day
Our second annual BDS Giving Day was a reflection of our amazing community—supportive, generous, and inspiring! Our goal was to reach 100 gifts in 24 hours. An anonymous donor generously offered to match up to $50,000 of gifts made on BDS Giving Day dollar-for-dollar. With the promise of double the impact, many supporters stepped up to the challenge and helped the school surpass the goal with 124 gifts received, totaling over $100,000. Thank you to all those who participated and made giving day such a success.
COVID-19 Relief Campaign
Reopening the doors of Belmont Day in September 2020 was no easy task, and our community’s trust and generosity allowed it to be possible. Since 1927, faculty, trustees, parents, alumni, parents of alumni, grandparents, and special friends have generously supported Belmont Day; during the pandemic, that support was invaluable as the school needed to take immediate action to meet many unexpected expenses to support our students and faculty. The COVID-19 Relief Campaign goal was to raise $700,000 to safely reopen the campus and carry on the school’s mission to inspire and challenge every student. The community achieved this goal, thereby making 2020–21 a historic annual giving fundraising year for the school.
The COVID-19 Relief Campaign helped offset many of the unexpected expenses the school incurred due to the pandemic. An additional $3,000 per student was required to cover COVID-19 related expenses, such as:
• Weekly COVID-19 testing for all students and faculty • Increased faculty support: hiring an additional nurse and seven assistant teachers
• Updating and expanding technology: 1:1 student devices, remote learning streaming capabilities, and software licensing • Investing in equipment to make our campus safe: outdoor structured spaces and PPE supplies • Other needed supplies: ventilation materials,
Plexiglass barriers, and program resources for students
