Acorn Endowment - Established in 2003 by a Belmont Day family, this endowment supports a unique and central aspect of the Belmont Day curriculum: helping Be invested in in 1987 and renamed in 1998, this endowment provides grants to faculty and other adults in the community for continuing education, travel, summer curriculum children to become strong citizens and effective leaders in their communities. General Endowment - Established in 1994, this endowment strengthens the school's financial reserves, providing lasting security for the school and its current programs as well as preparing for future needs. Lenesa Leana Endowment for Innovative and Collaborative Education - Established in 2011, this endowment supports the multidimensional ways that our community comes together to explore, develop, and implement innovation, all the while upholding the values at our heart. Miss Zareen Taj Mirza ’69 Endowment for the Lower School - Established in 2017 by alumna Zareen Taj Mirza ’69, this endowment provides funds to directly support lower school curriculum and teachers. individual tutoring sessions at school. Tommy Kaplan Library Endowment - Established in 2000 by Nancy and David Kaplan in memory of their son Tommy who would have graduated in the Class of 1981, this endowment provides consistent support for the purchase of library books, periodicals, and curriculum-related materials.
Walter Knight Music Endowment - Established in 1988 by an alumna in honor of her music teacher Walter Knight, this endowment supports the salaries of the music faculty
and ensures the continued existence of the music program at Belmont Day School. The Zofnass Family Environmental Sustainability Endowment - Established in 2015 by the Zofnass Family—Paul ’59, Joan ’61, and Emily ’63—this endowment funds the school's environmental sustainability efforts and supports curriculum in the study of environmental science. The yearly exposure to meaningful projects and annual recognition instills lifelong interest and commitment to the environment by our students. The Zofnass Environmental Award will be announced annually to celebrate a program supported by this endowment: 2018-19 Initiating School-wide Composting Program; 2017-18 Building a
