Why I Give: Christina Cosman ’91

Why I Give

Christina Cosman ’91

My years as a student at Belmont Day School in the 1980s-90s were some of the happiest of my life, and when my children were fortunate to start their journeys here, I felt like I was coming home. While some of my memories have faded, the feelings of inspiration, joy, and camaraderie from my time at BDS stick with me. Belmont Day sparked and fostered academic, creative, and athletic passions that I have continued to develop throughout my life; I can trace the origins of each back to specific moments that were unique to BDS. Equally important are the lifelong friendships that I formed here.

One thing that I love about Belmont Day School is the simultaneous deference to its most beloved traditions and the desire to evolve, progress, and innovate in meaningful ways. I give to the annual fund because I want our school to be the best that it can be, and I believe that community ownership is a big part of that. I am continually impressed by the ways in which I see giving in action, from new chairs in Coolidge Hall to professional development for our outstanding faculty.
